VIDEO: "Lost" Star Matthew Fox on ABC's GMA

Matthew Fox appeared on today's edition of Good Morning America to promote his upcoming theatrical "Vantage Point" and confirm he will be going back to the set of ABC's "Lost" in three weeks time to (hopefully) film 5 fresh episodes of the island drama this spring.

Fox is sorry some members of the crew may have had to abandon the series and move on to other projects because of the writers' strike, but he is hoping to see many familiar faces. "Lost" airs on Thursdays at 9/8c through March 20 and then returns in late April.

Matthew Fox's "Vantage Point" Opens Feb. 22

"Lost" star's new action-packed thriller "Vantage Point" opens nationwide on Friday, February 22. The actor traveled this week to Spain (where the movie takes place), France and Russia to promote the movie.

"Vantage Point," which boasts an all-star cast including Dennis Quaid, Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt and others, centers around an assassination attempt on the President of the United States told from 8 different perspectives.

The actor will be promoting the movie on ABC's "Good Morning, America" on Monday morning, and then on "Regis and Kelly" on Tuesday.

Columbia Students Diss "LOST" Star Matthew Fox

MARCH 7, 2007: Columbia University announced on Monday that ABC's "LOST" star Matthew Fox, who graduated CC’89 with a B.A. in economics and played wide receiver on the Lions’ varsity football team, would be serving as Class Day speaker on May 15, unleashing the anger of a bunch of whiny, pretentious and snobbish Columbia students and alumni.

An editor for Columbia University's undergrad magazine summoned peers to protest the decision in his "bwog": "...we want a Class Day speaker that has accomplished more than being hot and lucking into [two popular TV shows]."

Citing the likes of Anna Paquin, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Brian De Palma as more esteemed alumni, the editor says, "Fox's invitation to speak should be rescinded."

In response, the Ivy League students branded Fox a "C-list TV actor"; the decision to enlist him "repulsive", "ridiculous" and "disgusting" and added a number of insults and expletives.

New ABC Schedule: LOST Moves to Thursdays

This is the most important night in TV business, and it is not very surprising the Alphabet decided to air its most-prized midseason asset - 8 new episodes of "LOST" in the coveted Thursday at 9:00pm timeslot. Plus all-new "Ugly Betty," "Grey's Anatomy," "Big Shots," "Eli Stone" and a preview of "Cashmere Mafia."

The show will return January 31, the first night of February sweeps, although the network may air an all-LOST night of programming the evening before including a clip-special and a rerun of the 2-hour 3rd season finale.

LOST will be competing against "CSI" reruns on CBS, "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC and "Don't Forget the Lyrics" on FOX - which doesn't seem like a particularly difficult line-up to compete with.

Some of the show's target audience may be unhappy that The CW's "Supernatural" also airs in the timeslot, but that show is expected to quickly run out of fresh episodes anyway.

Although "LOST" creators were not too happy about ABC airing these 8 episodes without the remaining 8 , this may be a great opportunity for "LOST" to regain some of the audience it lost in season 3.

There are 3 all-new episodes of "Ugly Betty" left (they will air from January 3), but the network is considering several other options for that timeslot in February.

They may air either repeats of "Grey's Anatomy" or encores of "LOST," where previous week's episode of the show would lead into a new episode at 9:00pm as they did last spring on Wednesday nights at 9:00/10:00pm.

Greg Berlanti's new drama "Eli Stone" will air out of "LOST." It is a light legal drama which may do much better airing out of "LOST" than Eddie Cibrian-fronted "Invasion" a couple of years ago. That show was often considered as heavy and exhausting to watch as "LOST."

In January however, the network will use the last all-new episode of "Grey's Anatomy" (the much-anticipated Bailey voiceover episode) to launch the new Lucy Liu drama "Cashmere Mafia" at 10:00pm (on January 3) before that showmoves to its regular new timeslot, Wednesdays at 10:00pm, the following week.

The remaining 3 all-new episodes of "Big Shots" will air on January 10, 17 and 24.

THURSDAYS (from January)

8:00pm Ugly Betty (3 new episodes + repeats)
9:00pm Grey's Anatomy (1 new episode + repeats)
10:00pm Cashmere Mafia (premiere on January 3)/
Big Shots (January 10-24)

THURSDAYS (from January 31)

8:00pm Ugly Betty or Grey's Anatomy or LOST encores
9:00pm LOST
10:00pm Eli Stone

VIDEO: Matthew Fox on Jimmy Kimmel

Following an appearance on Jay Leno, "LOST" star Matthew Fox continued his promotional late-night tour and appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to discuss the final episodes of the ABC drama this season and, for those living under a rock, repeat that the show will air for 3 more years and 16 episodes per season.

Jimmy Kimmel who is a huge LOST fan wanted to (and did not want to) hear what happens in the very end of the series, as Matthew Fox allegedly knows what the ultimate direction of the show is. Fox did not give in, but he did say they will be working towards "the final conflict."

"LOST" Star Matthew Fox Cast In "Speed Racer"

"LOST" star Matthew Fox will be spending his summer hiatus shooting the new Larry and Andy Wachowski movie, Warner Bros. live-action update of the 1960s cartoon "Speed Racer."

The actor joins Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman who have already been cast.

"Speed" centers on a young race car driver, Speed (Hirsch), and his quest for glory in his thundering, gadget-laden Mach 5.

Matthew Fox will play Speed's mysterious racing rival, an enigmatic soldier of fortune.

The movie is expected to premiere in the summer of 2008.

In the meantime, the actor will appear in the Columbia Pictures' thriller "Vantage Point" which will be released in October.

VIDEO: Matthew Fox Loves Getting Naked

The folks at EXTRA Magazine sure know how to spend two minutes of their viewers' lives. Not! Not only have they failed to spill some beans on the upcoming shockers on ABC's mother of all dramas "LOST", but they let Matthew Fox tease the audience...

...about his passion for getting naked all the time without taking a peep at his naughty skinny-dipping sessions. How inept can you get? At least we know why Kate is a good kisser.

Evangeline Lilly really seems to have lost patience with viewers who complain about the scheduling of "LOST". Following similar rants on Letterman and The View, the actress vents frustration: "We gave you only two dates... Still. Not. Happy."

Give it to them, Kate! [whip crack sound byte]

TV.com Says Wentworth Miller Hottest Man On Television

TV.com has announced the winners of its "Hottest Man on Television" contest and over a million users have agreed - "Prison Break's" hottie Wentworth Miller is the most attractive man on television today.

Miller received over 44% of the votes and he was also the choice of the web portal editors.

Coming in close second was former "Part of Five" resident hunk and scruffy and heroic "LOST" star Matthew Fox with over 800,000 of the votes.

Finally, "Buffy" vet David Boreanaz currently of FOX' "Bones" got the bronze as a choice for over half a million users.

On the ladies front, green-eyed Evangeline Lilly took the top honors with 47% of the votes, which was about 15,000 votes.

Grey's Anatomy beauty Katherine Heigl was the second with over 6,000 votes, and Ali Larter the butt-kicking schizophrenic on NBC's "Heroes" was the close third.

The surprisingly large gap in votes for the hottest actors and actresses does confirm that old finding that TV series and perhaps most of general TV programming (apart from news and sports) may be much more popular with female and gay male audiences.

LOST Stars Lilly, Fox Promote Disney On Stage

LOST stars Evangeline Lilly and Matthew Fox took stage at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday to help Disney CEO Robert Iger who presented the company's brand new website. The actors revealed the producers of LOST go constantly online feeling at the mercy of fans.

While presenting the renewed Disney.com, Iger spoke about ways technology is reshaping the entertainment giant. He said the best way to battle piracy was to bring content to the market on a well-timed and well-priced basis.

Fox said technology was bringing the fans of LOST and other TV shows together to discuss the shows they watch and ultimately have more influence over them than the actors themselves.

Iger also brought on stage producer Jerry Bruckheimer to preview the third installment in the "Pirates of the Carribean" series confirming guitarist Keith Richards would have a role in the movie.

LOST Spoilers: Bai Ling Hits The Sheets With Matthew Fox In Latest LOST Moment

Fans of Matthew Fox's LOST character Jack have been asking for months - how did the sexy doctor really get his tattoos? We are about to find out in a steamy flashback set in Thailand.

The latest LOST moment streamed yesterday on ABC's official website revealed an upcoming erotic scene featuring a beautiful China-born actress Bai Ling.

Recently, the actress revealed she plays a woman named Achara who seduces Jack. They become lovers and they spend time together, but he never really gets to know her as she never lets him.

Finally, there is a psychological twist and an unhappy ending including betrayal.

Two days before the fall finale aired in early November, the LOST cast and crew filmed the scene pictured below in which the doctor gets beaten up by a bunch of thugs which may give you some idea of how things are going to work out for Jack.

Turns out the doctor had even more baggage before the crash than we had thought.

Bai Ling revealed she was cast to appear in three episodes of LOST this season.

This is somewhat confusing as even principal characters such as Jack do not get more than 3 flashbacks per season and Jack has already had one in the season premiere episode in October. Would Achara appear on the island as well?

Entertainment Weekly contradicted the actress, saying she would only appear in a single episode.

We will find out more when LOST continues on February 7. Jack's flashback will air on February 21 on the as-yet untitled episode.

Matthew Fox's Movie "We Are Marshall" Disappointing At Box Office

LOST star Matthew Fox's first major venture into motion picture business has not been very successful thus far. The movie "We Are Marshall" which premiered shortly before Christmas has had lukewarm reception at the box office.

The football drama starring Fox and Matthew McConaughey has made a little over $30 million at the North American box office for the two weeks since its release, a rather modest gross placing the sports drama outside the top-5 both holiday weekends.

The simultaneous release of the wider-appeal sports movie "Rocky Balboa" may have had some negative impact on the disappointing results of the movie.

Sports and football related films (or television series) normally do not do very well at the box office (or in the ratings) and have limited international appeal as well.

The highest grossing sports movie of all time is Rocky IV with a little over 127 million in lifetime domestic gross.

"We Are Marshall" should nevertheless be able to place itself among the top-20 sports movies of all time, as well as top-10 football movies.

Although movies that break the 100 million dollar mark used to be considered blockbusters, the inflated budgets of today's films make that a very misleading perception.

Normally, due to high distribution costs, a movie needs to make at least two times the production budget to break even, although this may vary.

This is why inexpensive films such as "Brokeback Mountain" which cost 14 million to produce and earned 178 million at the box office was much more profitable then, say "King Kong" which earned 549 million, but cost 207 million to produce.

DVD sales or rentals and TV rights then help underperformers cut their losses.

In addition to his new movie "We Are Marshall" (starring Matthew McConaughey), Matthew Fox will make a cameo appearance in the January 26 all-star movie "Smokin' Aces" starring Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keys and many more.

The movie also stars Jeremy Piven as a Las Vegas performer turned mafia apprentice who turns against the mob and decides to testify in court. The mafia announces a $1,000,00 reward on his life at which point a number of fascinating characters enter the story as FBI races against the clock to protect their informer's life.

Matthew's next movie "We Are Marshall" opens December 22 and the new season of "Lost" begins February 7.

"LOST" Stars At "We Are Marshall" Premiere

"LOST" stars Matthew Fox and Josh Holloway celebrated their show's Golden Globe nomination on Thursday night in Hollywood at the premiere of FOX's new movie "We Are Marshall" which opens nationwide on December 22.

Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox who star in the movie were joined on the red carpet by Jack Lengyl and Red Dawson, the two men they play in the real-life story of the rebuilding of the Marshall University football team after most of the team was lost in a tragic plane crash back in 1970.

Matthew Fox once again confirmed he was not leaving ABC's hit drama. His "Lost" co-star Josh Holloway said the cast was very happy for Evangeline Lilly who was also nominated for her portrayal of Kate and was 'probably jumping up and down of excitement'.

Fox, who earlier this week appeared on the David Letterman show (among the many promotional public appearances), jokingly said he actually knew how LOST was going to end, but "was not allowed to say anything".

Losties Got Milk

Fans of ABC's "Lost" are still trying to figure out why the mysterious "Dharma Initiative" is feeding their heroes. Meanwhile, the paparazzi have checked if any of those "Dharma" groceries are real and have ended up among the cast.

Actor Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) was photographed earlier this month shopping for groceries. Among the items bought? A fruit salad, a carton of reduced-fat milk and "Card Sharks". No "Dharma" products included.

The question is: how soon till someone adds "Dharma" groceries to the never-ending supply of LOST merchandise including DVDs, books, mugs, puzzles, T-shirts, sports bottles, trading cards and of course, numerous action figures.

Going back to milk, no one knows the essential nutrients that milk provides better than Matthew Fox (Dr. Jack Shepherd). The actor was one of the celebrities endorsing milk as evident in this classic print ad from the 90s when he used to star on FOX's "Party of Five".
