Will "Prison Break" End After Season 4?

Wentworth Miller once said he thought FOX's "Prison Break" could run for many years, just like hit procedurals such as "C.S.I.". After Monday's dismal numbers for season 4 premiere, the writers might want to think how to bring the over-the-top drama to a satisfying conclusion this year.


The 2-hour episode reunited Miller's character Michael Scofield with the love of his life, Dr. Sara Tancredi, whom the writers brutally killed off last year, after contract renegotiations with actress Sarah Wayne Callies failed. Dismayed by Sara's decapitation and "Prison Break's" increasingly contrived storylines some fans abandoned the series.


The audience erosion appears to have continued this year. After averaging 9.5 million viewers in season 1 in 2005, the drama has been losing about a million viewers each season. For the time being, it seems this year will be no exception, as "Prison Break" is now down to about 6.5 million viewers.



For this reason, the time may have come to finally bring down "The Company" and let brothers Scofield/Burrows catch their breath and put their battle against the invisible and lethal syndicate to rest. Providing there is another regular high-profile job waiting for the hunky Miller, of course.

VIDEO: "Prison Break" Hottie Wentworth Miller @ BRAVO Supershow in Germany

A man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do. 35-year old "Prison Break" hottie Wentworth Miller, assumed his promotional duties for the FOX drama last weekend in Germany posing for pictures and signing autographs for an adoring legion of loving female fans on the red carpet at the teen magazine BRAVO's annual awards bash.

Miller picked an Otto for Shooting Star of 2007 as the crowd at the event televised on German's RTL-2 channel went wild.

Miller then said "danke" to his German fans as the presenter wiped sweat off his forehead and threw the towel into the audience for a bunch of ecstatic gals to have a catfight over. The towel has not been seen since then.

Miller and the rest of the "Prison Break" gang will be reporting to work in a week to begin shooting the 4th season. FOX should premiere the new season in late summer.

After 2 seasons of filming in Dalls, TX, the production is moving this year to Los Angeles, CA. 22 all-new episodes have been ordered.

Miller said last year he believed PB has 8-9 seasons in it. A number of TV critics hope he was wrong.

FOX Orders "Prison Break: Season 4"

FOX announced on Monday an all-new season of drooling over Wentworth Miller, as "Prison Break" got a full 22-episode 4th season. The series will be moving from Panama to Los Angeles, which means Miller and the gang will no longer be shooting in Dallas, TX.

The writers' strike cut the show's 3rd season short, from 22 to 13 episodes (a total of 67 episodes have aired over the past 3 years).

In the season finale which aired in February, Michael Scoffield (Miller) and his fellow Sona inmates broke out of the Panamanian prison and are on the run again.

This time however, Scofield and his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) are expected to head for Los Angeles in their final showdown with "The Company."

A spin-off of "Prison Break" (tentatively titled "Cherry Hill") remains in development and may also air at some point next season.

Production of season 4 begins in May in Los Angeles. The show began production in 2005 in Chicago, before moving to Dallas the following year.

Although the show premiered to fairly positive reviews in August 2005, it was critically panned for a number of its preposterous plot twists in the past year.

The ratings for "Prison Break" fell from 9.4 million (2nd season) to 8.2 million (3rd season), with some of the Panama-based episodes scoring a series-low of 7.2 million viewers. The show however continues to do well among young adults.

FOX has yet to announce if the show will remain in its regular time slot (Mondays at 8/7c) next year.

'Prison Break" Star Wentworth Miller in Paris

Following his trip to Israel, "Prison Break" cutie Wentworth Miller, that straight women and gay men across the world go completely ga-ga over, continued his promotional tour for the FOX series in Paris, France where he arrived on Saturday.

Miller took time to pose for photographers with his fans and sign autographs at the airport as well as in front of the Georges V hotel where he is currently staying.

Earlier today, the actor was snapped taking a stroll through the streets of Paris, browsing through antique street market and yes, enjoying a cup of his beloved Starbucks coffee to go.

FOX has yet to confirm whether "Prison Break," which recently ended a 13-episode strike-abbreviated 3rd season would come back next fall for a 4th season.

Wentworth Miller to Visit Israel

"Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller is traveling to Israel next Tuesday, March 11. As a guest of the Yes satellite television provider, Miller will help launch Yes HD Channel.

Miller's visit will coincide with the telecast of the season 3 finale of "Prison Break" on the Yes Stars 2 channel.

FOX has yet to make a decision whether they will order a 4th season of the internationally popular drama. Fans hope FOX will commission at least 13 episodes to give the series a proper send-off.

Wentworth Miller's German GQ Photo Spread

AUGUST 30, 2007: Gorgeous "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller is on the cover of the Fall/Winter issue of German GQ Style magazine. In the interview Miller says, when he toured Europe in an a cappella band as a college student, he loved visiting Heidelberg because of a pool where girls could go topless.

Miller alludes to public speculation over his sexual orientation and an alleged relationship with actor Luke MacFarlane by saying: "I constantly have to define myself for others. The problem is that the definitions always belong to those who define, not to those who are defined."

The article goes on to describe Wentworth's popularity among women by stating a PR woman in France has admitted to being "wet for Went" and that during the actor's recent visit to South Korea (where he filmed advertising campaigns for a brand of jeans and coffee) "panties were thrown."

Are Wentworth Miller And Luke MacFarlane Gay & Ready to Come Out?

AUGUST 27, 2007: "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller, 35, who has been the target of public and tabloid speculation over his sexual orientation, was photographed on Saturday with actor Luke MacFarlane, 27, ("Brothers & Sisters") who is rumored to be Miller's boyfriend.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reported in June that the couple were dating but there had been no photographic evidence until this weekend that the couple even knew each other.



According to Just Jared, after the couple spotted the paparazzi they tried to avoid being photographed, but ultimately decided to walk down the street and smile for the cameras.



The couple began the day at the printing store Kinko where Miller surfed the Internet (the actor has been photographed checking out stories about "Prison Break" in Internet cafes in the past).



After getting coffee at Starbucks and being photographed by the paparazzi they visited an art gallery in Culver City and ended the day with dinner at In-N-Out Burger drive-thru.

Wentworth Miller has said in past interviews that he is not gay. Although he was snapped going to movies and restaurants with girlfriends, he never appeared to be dating a woman.



Luke MacFarlane returns this fall to ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" (where he plays a gay character) for another 7-episode guest stint (some of us are still hoping he will eventually become series regular).

Last year, MarcFarlane was rumored to be dating "Grey's Anatomy" star T.R. Knight. MacFarlane and Knight were also photographed spending an afternoon together days after T.R. Knight came out to People Magazine.



Will Wentworth Miller be the next high-profile celebrity to come out of the closet?

2006 was an important year in gay visibility as pop singer Lance Bass and televisions stars T.R. Knight and Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") all came out in People Magazine.
