CBS Picks Up 6 Pilots
CBS has confirmed it will pick up the dramas "Cane," "Swingtown," "Moonlight" and "Viva Laughlin" as well as the comedy "The Big Bang Theory" and a Drew Carey-hosted game show.
"Cane" (a.k.a. "Los Duques"), is a drama about a multi-generational Latin American family in the rum business starring Jimmy Smits and Hector Elizondo.
"Moonlight" (previously "Twilight"), stars "The Shield's" Alex O'Loughlin as a private investigator who is a vampire.
"Swingtown," is an ensemble drama starring Jack Davenport set during the 1970s about the impact of sexual liberation.
The musical "Viva Laughlin," is a series about a family man (Lloyd Own) who dreams of opening a casino in Laughlin, Nevada.
"The Big Bang Theory" stars Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki as brilliant theoretical physicists who meet a woman who shows them how little they know about real life.
Unless CBS is planning to open a new comedy night, the pick up of "The Big Bang theory" may mean the end of "How I Met Your Mother," "Old Christine" or "Rules of Engagement."
Finally, "The Power of 10" features contestants as they try to guess the results of nationwide surveys with the finalist moving on to a bonus round in which their winnings multiply by 10 for each of its five questions - up to $10 million.
