Did The End Of "The O.C." Cheer Mischa Barton Up?
Actress and former star of FOX's "The O.C." Mischa Barton was photographed on Tuesday looking very sad after lunch with boyfriend Crisco Adler. One might wonder if the news about the cancellation of her former series made her smile the following day.
Barton, who was given walking papers last May when "The O.C." killed her character Marissa off in a spectacular car accident (the cliffhanger twist she spoiled for fans the day before it aired), has kept busy since leaving the teen drama.
She has completed two movies and the other two are currently in post-production. All films are scheduled to be released in 2007.
Her first project is "Closing the Rings", also starring Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer. Barton plays the younger incarnation of MacLaine's character in World war II Ireland.
Later this year, the actress can also be seen in "Virgin Territory" alongside Hayden Christensen, who coincidentally just finished shooting the new sci-fi thriller "Jumper" with Barton's ex "O.C." castmate Rachel Bilson.
