Josh Schwartz Previews The O.C. Finale, Dismisses CW Pick-Up
JANUARY 3, 2007: The creator of FOX's freshly canceled teen drama "The O.C." has just given an exclusive interview to TV Guide previewing the final 8 episodes and the show's series finale scheduled to air February 22.
In the interview, Schwartz revealed he was very happy FOX allowed him to bring closure to his characters and ensure the show went out with what the critics have called The O.C.'s best season ever.
The final episodes will feature a pregnancy, a surprising love triangle, fight for the love of a certain woman, surprises for the Cohen family and big decisions for everyone to make.
Ryan and Taylor's relationship (one of the reasons the show has managed to strike the right creative chord this year) is headed for some unpleasant twists and turns, but ultimately people who watched Ryan grow and search for happiness will be satisfied.
Schwartz dismissed earlier speculation that the drama might get renewed for a fifth season on The CW.
Finally, the series finale will not feel accelerated, as Schwartz and the creative team behind the drama have planned for it and had enough time to prepare and give closure to all core characters.
The new episodes begin tomorrow night at 9/8c on FOX and will air straight through February 22 without pre-emptions.

I also heard/read that someone is coming out too. This will be a good time to close down the The O.C.. I'll miss it for sure.
I want Autumn Reeser to find another job! This girl is not to be missed at all! Someone should call her agent and snatch her when her contract expires.
