SCENE-STEALING DR. MC STEAMYEvery once in a while there is a scene on television that gets people talking and their jaws dropping. And prime-time dramas are especially good at creating them, that is while they are in their prime.
Sometimes they are shocking, like the one when that sociopath Kimberly pulled her wig off to reveal the most disgusting scar ever on "Melrose Place".
Or they can be funny, like the one when Susan locked herself out of her house stark-naked on "Desperate Housewives" to land in the bushes just as her hunky plumber was passing by.
But they can also make you drool, like the one just last Thursday when that Greek God of an actor Eric Dane walked out of a hotel bathroom wearing nothing but a towel in front of over 23 million people. Now, that gave them something to talk about.
The 33-year old actor, who is married to "Vanished"-star Rebecca Gayheart, recently appeared in the X-Men: The Last Stand. He says he keeps in shape by going to the gym three to four times per week to work out with his trainer and always watches what he eats.
Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd), who was fully clothed in the scene, says he has now started going to the gym himself. Kate Walsh, who plays Dempsey's estranged wife Addison, says it is always difficult working with someone who looks like Eric Dane. As for Dane himself, he believes the audience will love him and hate him all season long as his character is bound to make some additional bad choices.
On tonight's third episode "Sometimes a Fantasy" Dane is promoted to series regular and his character Dr. Mark Sloan tries to woo his lover Addison (Kate Walsh) into going back to New York with him. When she hesitates, he accuses her of being with him for sex only and tries to kiss her. Taken aback, Addison slaps him and regrets that immediately.
Now that should keep Seattle Grace steamy all season long.
