ENTER GREEN ARROW

Tonight on The CW's "Smallville" Justin Hartley of NBC's Passions makes a debut as young and handsome billionaire Oliver Green, a.k.a. The Green Arrow, a new costumed vigilante who tries to recruit like-minded people with special abilities for "Justice League", a crime-fighting team.

Hurtley, who was originally cast by Smallville producers to carry the spin-off series "Aquaman", was quickly offered the role of the agile superhero when the project was dropped by the network management.

On screen, Tom Welling's Clark Kent will initially be weary of Queen, as he was with previous superhero guest stars Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman who return this season to join the league.

Justin is scheduled to appear in at least 7 episodes this season and will romance Lois Lane (Erica Durance). The producers had a special set built as Green Arrow's modern top-of-the-building penthouse located behind a giant clock visible from the outside.

In a recent interview, the actor revealed his young daughter still likes to call him Aquaman. The original Aquaman, American Idol wannabe Alan Richman, will be back in January to reprise his role from last season.
