The broadcast networks have not even premiered all of their new series this fall and they are already greenlighting pilots for the 2007-08 television season.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has two projects in development - a crime drama "Bait" at FOX as well as a new medical drama over at ABC.
CSI creator Anthony Zuiker and CBS are developing a new procedural drama "The Man" starring LL Cool J. The series will also combine elements of character-driven drama, as it focuses on the private life of a cop in a serialized format.
ABC is also developing a new contest series "The Imposter" looking for the best celebrity impersonator. The series will premiere in the summer of 2007.
Meanwhile Scrubs writers and American Pie filmmakers are bringing a new sitcom to NBC, an interracial family comedy, which is being compared to The Brady Bunch.
