ABC Video Player Available Abroad?
We have just learned that ABC's Video Player that carries premium television programming such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy over the network's ABC.com website may now be accessible abroad.
If you are living abroad, have broadband Internet connection and have tried to watch any of the episodes of these programs via ABC.com today do let us know by leaving a comment below this post whether you have been successful or not.
Earlier this year, ABC was one of the first networks in the US to make their programming available online. The video player carries their top-rated shows with limited advertising, normally paid for by a single advertiser per episode.
The service is however normally unavailable to viewers abroad, including Canada, due to copyright issues.
If the programs are available abroad for the moment, it is not clear whether this is due to a technical problem or if it is a part of the network's current special package to offer all episodes of featured shows that have aired so far this season until January premieres.

I'm in Canada and yesterday I was able to use the ABC site to watch Grey's Anatomy for the first time.
hi, thanks for info. I'm in Germany and I can watch it.
I am so happy it is now available in Canada. I wouldn't have checked to see if I could view the episodes again since I originally saw the "not available" message if it wasn't for this post. Thanks!
I'm from Romania and I can't watch.
Hey Justin is available for everyone?
From Spain...
I couldn't watch it:
"Episodes are temporarily unavailable. Please try again at another time"
I'm from Sweden, I got the same massage as Roeth Cohller,
"Episodes are temporarily unavailable. Please try again at another time"
Hi, I am from the Czech Republic. I could watch it yesterday, but today I am also getting the same error message.
Thanks to everyone who has left a comment or written an email.
It seems the service was indeed available abroad for a limited period of time (Thursday and Friday), but it may now be limited again.
What is still different is than you are able to access the player and get the error message at all. Previously, foreign visitors would simply be informed the player "was not available in their territory".
The service may be experiencing some technical difficulties. I will keep you posted if there are any changes.
I'm from Canada and yesterday, I could watch the episodes, but today that infamous message came up that only people in the U.S. could watch.
How will I know when I can and cannot watch the shows? Is there is a scheduel of some kind?
Hey
My question is I just moved to New York a month ago, but I still can't watch the videos. Do u know how the website tell each one whether they r in US or not?
