"BLADE" CANCELLED, FOX STICKS WITH "JUSTICE"

The axe has swung again. The Spike cable network has just released a statement that the first season finale of their vampire action series "Blade" will be the show's series finale.

The Wesley Snipes movie-inspired drama whose pilot attracted over 2,5 million viewers quickly faded during the summer with less than 900,000 tuning in to see the final installment. The show will be replaced by action series Kill Pit.

In other "to kill or not to kill" news, FOX has decided to be patient with their new Kerr Smith legal drama Justice. Following the repeat of the pilot last Friday, the network will broadcast even more of the already aired episodes when a baseball game is pre-empted during the October playoffs.

The buzz is that the network is looking at moving "Justice" around on the schedule. Will that seal the fate of another show? "Standoff" and "Vanished" are among the endangered species, so stay tuned.
