TV Ratings: Tuesday (April 15, 2008)
CBS' procedural hit NCIS is the second most watched telecast of the evening, behind a deflated but still very dominant episode of "American Idol." Take a jump for the rest of Tuesday night ratings.
Could ABC's "According to Jim" go any lower? Upcoming syndication deals have however saved this low-rated comedy from imminent cancellation.
The network's 10pm drama "Boston Legal" did reasonably well among older viewers, but its demo ratings (2.2) are about 30% lower than last spring. Will the show get renewed despite that?
"Law & Order: SVU" continues to do well for NBC building from its solid reality lead-in "The Biggest Loser."
It's time for Ashton Kutcher's "Beauty and the Geek" to sing its swan song. The show does worse than repeats of "Reaper" at 9pm. It may not be easy to battle Idol, but "Gilmore Girls" (which got canceled) pulled in 3.83 million viewers one year ago.
Speaking of 2007, "American Idol" scored almost 26 million viewers on a comparable night one year ago, therefore last night's episode was down 12% year to year.
