TV Ratings: "Viva Laughlin" Collapses (10/21/07)
CBS' freshman musical series "Viva Laughlin" moved to its regular timeslot last night scoring 6.77 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. Although this was encore telecast of the premiere episode, I seriously doubt these numbers will significantly improve, so expect a quick death for this critically-panned and low-rated series.
The CW got off to a great start with the repeat of the pilot episode of its Monday night comedy "Aliens in America." Although scoring 1.28 million viewers is nothing to brag about, the show did double the ratings of the just-canceled "Online Nation" and it gave its lead-out "Life is Wild" a push, as the Africa-based drama pulled in series-high 1.58 million.
"Desperate Housewives" slipped to 17.78 million viewers, still beating Thursday's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" by 110,000 viewers, tying the medical drama in the 18-49 demo with a 7.1 rating, and coming out as Sunday's top scripted hour. The dramedy's lead-out "Brothers & Sisters" (11.92 million) is the network's most-watched 10 p.m. show.
The highest rated program of the evening was FOX's baseball coverage giving the network a rare Sunday night win.
