FOX's "Bones" Moves to Tuesdays
FOX flip flopped its new fall schedule on Thursday pairing hit David Boreanez series "Bones" off with Hugh Laurie-fronted blockbuster "House" and shipping freshman drama "New Amsterdam" off to midseason.
The change comes after the success of FOX's summer game show "Don't Forget the Lyrics" which will now follow "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" on Thursday nights.
The show originally intended for that slot "Kitchen Nightmares" from chef Gordon Ramsey now moves to Wednesdays at 9, following back-to-back comedies.
The domino-effect ends on Tuesday as "New Amsterdam" a rookie drama about an immortal New York homicide detective goes off the schedule to make way for "Bones."
Although I am unhappy that the balance between reality and scripted programming has once again been shifted in favor of the former, at least the viewers will get a powerful Tuesday night which of course goes insane once "American Idol" premieres in January.
No word on what happens to "Bones" or where "New Amsterdam" ends up when "Idol" kicks off its seventh cycle in 2008.
The new schedule:
