Fashion Icons Celebrate Valentino
World's top designers and A-list movie and fashion celebrities gathered in Rome to celebrate Italian fashion designer Valentino who marked the 45th anniversary of his design house on Saturday, breaking with tradition and unveiling his haute couture collections for women in Rome instead of Paris. Take a look at the styles the leading ladies of film and fashion chose for the festivities on Saturday.
Valentino, 75, and his business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti organized the three-day celebration the cost of which is expected to exceed $10 million. He received permission to use the city’s oldest ruins, the Temple of Venus, for an open-air dinner Friday for 500 members of the international jet set and then 1000 more on Saturday, followed by fireworks.
World's greatest designers Manolo Blahnik, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Giorgio Armani, Carolina Herrera and Valentino's friend of 52 years Karl Lagerfeld, all attended the spectacular event on Saturday night along with Silvio Berlusconi, Princess Caroline, Barry Diller and the Rothschilds, the Borgheses, the Radziwills, the Santo Domingos and the Guinnesses.
