Chyler Leigh New "Grey's Anatomy" Regular
JULY 11, 2007: We all knew "Reunion" alum Chyler Leigh was joining ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" as Meredith's half-sister Lexie and a potential romantic interest for Dr. McDreamy. What we didn't know is that the actress would become series regular.
TV Guide reports the producers went against the recommendations of a recent focus group that addressed a lot of hatred towards both Gizzie and the prospect of Dr. McDreamy bedding the new intern at Seattle Grace. Yes!!!
Following the report that Shonda Rhimes may have to consider axing the Gizzie storyline because of the focus group findings, I couldn't be happier that the producers are doing the exact opposite and I certainly hope they do the same about George and Izzie.
There is a reason why fans don't write the shows they watch. Shonda Rhimes has proven herself as an outstanding writer and showrunner over the past three years and I would find it outrageous if ABC forced these opinions upon her.
Every red-hot TV series reaches a point following the initial excitement when almost everyone jumps on the bandwagon of criticism, nitpicking and trying to "fix the problem". Both "LOST" and "Desperate Housewives" have been there, as have many other shows before them.
Besides 95% of participants had negative feelings about Lexie even though she appeared in only 2 scenes last season. That is beyond ridiculous. I do hope Mrs.Rhimes will show these prejudiced know-it-alls who is in charge.

HECK YEA!! I hope this means more George/Izzie because they also went against other panels last year :).

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.......i hate this new chlyer leigh. she is so UGLY UGLY UGLY UGLY! what were they thinking casting her. like she is just so unrealistic to be on the show. like mcdreamy looks like he would never go for that type of girl. she is just going to ruin the complete show and they are going to loose so many viewers
Hey, I wouldn't have had a problem with Gizzie, had it been done a bit more beliveable. I mean, after they slept with each other, I was sure that they'd at least try to be friends a little bit, but George deciding that he loves Izzie so quickly?
The only problem I could have with Lexie, would be that she would come in as a love interest for McDreamy. I mean, really? Derek sleeping with Mer's sister, of even just kissing her would be the kiss of death for this show, it would ruin everything. And that's what I'm afraid Shonda will do, that's why I'm scared of having Lexie on the show
That is a bad picture of her, she looked cute in the season finale.
Alex and Izzie is more believable than "Gizzie." How they doing Callie is bous as hell, she don't deserve that, esp. when george was saying to Callie that he couldn't believe a girl as beautiful as Izzie has feeling for her, like Callie was a fat cow..... I wanted to slap George in the mouth. I don't like Izzie character too much anyway, maybe it is because she suppose to be the hot girl but she is not that pretty to me.
I think that they shouldn't tell Shonda what to do i mean Kate Walsh wasn't liked in the beginning and now she has her own show and she was the one who seperated Meredith and Derek. Just let them do the thing they're good at.
