New CBS Schedule

CBS has just released its fall 2007 prime-time schedule. "Shark" moves to Sundays, "Without a Trace" returns to Thursdays, "Jericho" is canceled, while "Old Christine," "Amazing Race" and "Swingtown" premiere at midseason.

Being the #1 broadcast network in America, CBS has once again adhered to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" policy. Only one new comedy, three new dramas and one new reality series will premiere this fall.

Monday night comedy "Old Christine," reality series "The Amazing Race" and controversial new drama "Swingtown" will premiere at some point later in the season.

Despite speculation that the network was not particularly fond of its sophomore comedy "How I Met Your Mother," the flashback-laden sitcom will return for a 3rd season.

New comedy "The Big Bang Theory" will, for the time being, take "Christine's" timeslot on Monday nights at 8:30 p.m.

Although it was clear James Woods-fronted drama "Shark" would be moving away from the plum post-CSI spot on Thursday nights, not many had predicted "Without a Trace" would be returning to that timeslot.

New drama "Cane" about a Latin family starring Jimmy Smits, which was a strong contender for the slot, will air on Tuesdays; "Moonlight" about a private investigator who is a vampire will be paired off with "Ghost Whisperer" on Fridays; while Hugh Jackman produced adaptation of a British musical about a family running a casino "Viva Lauglin" gets the Sunday post-60 Minutes timeslot.

"Kid Nation" is a reality series about kids trying to rebuild a ghost town and it will replace "Jericho" on Wednesday nights.
