Cast of NBC's "Heroes" @ Upfronts

Milo Ventimiglia is looking dorky, on-screen bro Adrian Pasdar is being naughty, and the entire cast is celebrating "Heroes'" 30-episode second season at yesterday's Upfronts in New York.

You won't be seeing these people in all 30 episodes, though, as 6 of them will air under the moniker "Heroes: Origins," a spin-off with entirely different characters that the viewers will be able to vote for to appear on the mothership series.

The expression "bulk-up" illustrating NBC's new strategy to inflate season orders for "Heroes" and Thursday night comedies was one of the most used (and abused?) terms at yesterday's presentations.

Will the initiative succeed and spark up a new trend among broadcast networks or will NBC ditch it and try never to mention it again, as FOX did with their recent year-round programming initiative?
