"Heroes" Ends With a Bang

Hardcore fans of NBC's freshman drama "Heroes" are bitching all over the Internet about the first season finale that many of them feel lacked a proper showdown between Zachary Quinto's villain Sylar and Milo Ventimiglia's explosive Peter Petrelli. Ratingswise however, the drama went out with a bang.

The episode surged almost 2 million viewers to 13,21 million total viewers, the drama's best results since the March 5 midseason cliffhanger which scored 14,9 million viewers.

Given all the criticism (that I personally find somewhat exaggerated) the series may continue to bleed when it returns for a second season in the fall.

FOX's "24" ended its lackluster "Day Six" with a little over 10 million viewers. The season premiere episode on January 14 scored over 16 million viewers. Jack Bauer has obviously had a very bad day.

"Dancing with the Stars" was of course the top show on Monday night with almost 20 million people tuning in. Its lead-out "The Bachelor" hit season-high for its 2-hour send-off with 12,85 million.

I give the finale an 8 out of 10. Still a lot of unresolved issues, like can Sylar actually be killed and not then what is the suspense? Also why did Peter not just fly up by himself. I know he wanted to do the brother thing (I don't blame him!!) but c'mon LOL
With all the powers both of them absorbed over an entire season, there should have been more special effects like they promised! Still enjoy the show though, hope they can keep it fresh.

Never liked Heroes but if it ended with a good cliffhanger, I consider the season finale a success.

Yea, i was kinda hoping on Sylar and Peter going head to head, fully powered up... i found their little fight in 'Five years gone' done better... But i liked the finale.. it was entertaining..

Was George Takei one of the ancient warriors?

I don't think the fans were really paying close attention to the series if they are complaining. There were so many clues and hints on how this was going to fare, I wasn't expecting a showdown at all.

Peter can fly by himself and explode in the air by himself. That's something which I hope they will resolve later.

They already hinted on the big-bad for season 2. Thank god for Miss Molly. :D

But overall, if you were paying attention, you would have sensed the future was never really set and it was a parallel universe that Hiro entered.

Anyway, just wanted to give my 2 cents into the bucket.
