Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Canoodling on "Heroes" Set

The filming of season 3 of NBC's sci-fi drama "Heroes" has recently begun in Los Angeles, CA, reuniting its stars and real-life lovers Hayden Panettiere, 18, and Milo Ventimiglia, 30, who appeared to be sharing a tender moment on Friday.

Ventimiglia, who plays Panettiere's uncle on the show, never gets to enjoy locking lips with his teenage girlfriend on-screen.

According to a recent interview in the British Glamour Magazine, the petite actress experimented with her girlfriends while growing up, perfecting her kissing techniques. No wonder her boyfriend is an eager little beaver.

Season 3 of "Heroes" kicks off with a 3-hour premiere on Monday, September 22 at 8/7c on NBC.

"Heroes" Love Birds Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Step Out Again

"Heroes" co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia attend a private Hollywood party on Saturday night under the watchful eye of the paparazzi.

The couple had denied being in a relationship before People Magazine ran a New Year's Eve story confirming that they were dating.

The article suggested Hayden's mom adores Milo and introduces him as Hayden's boyfriend.

Milo, 30, who plays Hayden's, 18, uncle on the show, was also said to have spent great time with the Panettiere family on a December trip to New York City.

More recently, the couple were photographed holding hands shopping at a mall on a Sunday afternoon in January.

US Magazine reported the couple decided to go public because they were tired of avoiding questions about their relationship.

Ventimiglia was said to have had a 'crush' on Hayden for a long time, but revealed his true feelings for her only after Hayden broke up with her former boyfriend, MTV VJ Stephen Colletti.

"Heroes" Babe Hayden Panettiere Smiles Despite Ratings & Family Troubles

Her hit NBC series is still down in the ratings and her father has just been charged with misdemeanor battery for an incident in which he allegedly hit his wife, but "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere is still smiling for the cameras.

Earlier this week it was reported that Alan Panettiere faces up to a year in a Los Angeles County jail if convicted. He was arrested on Aug. 11 on suspicion of striking his wife, Lesley.

Meanwhile, Hayden's sci-fi saga "Heroes" has failed to break the 10 million mark in the Nielsen ratings, losing about 5 million viewers year to year. The show returned to NBC Mondays following a 10-month break and a lackluster 2nd season.

NBC's "Heroes": Season 3 Promo Stills

Can NBC's sci-fi hit drama "Heroes" regain its momentum following a creative and ratings sophomore slump and being off air for over 9 months?

The show should have no problem beating a weakened "Prison Break" over on FOX
in the Monday night battle for young male viewers.

But just how eager are the fans to see Milo, Hayden and the rest of the gang back in action this year?

We'll find out come September 22 when "Heroes" premieres at 9/8c with a 2-hour episode (a clip show airs at 8/7c). Here are additional season 3 promo stills the network is using to tout the relaunch of the show.

"Heroes" Spoilers: Season 3 Premiere

After the much criticized second season, fans of NBC's sci-fi saga "Heroes" are eager to see what direction the show takes in year 3. A 10-month wait is almost over - it all begins with a 3-hour event on Monday, September 22.

The night will kick off with a 1-hour clip show, followed by 2 episodes airing back-to-back: "The Second Coming" and "The Butterfly Effect." The season opener has already screened at Comi-Con.

According to NBC, season 3 starts moments after shots rang out, as "the shocking identity of Nathan’s assassin and the reasons why the Texas press conference had to be cut short are revealed -- immediately throwing Peter and Matt into unexpected, uncharted territory."

What NBC didn't say (and you will see in the opening moments of the episode) is that the assassin was future Peter who had a strong reason to stop Nathan. The now infamous scene from the promos in which real-life couple Milo and Hayden collide, launches the new season.

With his powers partially restored, an invisible Sylar decides a visit to Claire could give him a boost. He cuts her head open to take over her powers, but ultimately saves her from dying.

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Hiro and Ando are charged with safeguarding a family secret that could split the planet apart, and discover that the path to a grim future starts with shady speedster, Daphne (guest star Brea Grant). It all begins with a DVD message from Hiro's deceased father.

In New York City, thanks to Maya, Suresh makes a startling breakthrough that could change the world -- or just destroy his, as he acquires super powers of his own. And what does Nikki have in common with Tracy Strauss?

Milo Ventimiglia & Adrian Pasdar @ BAFTA

"Heroes" hunks Milo "The Adorable Crooked Lip" Ventimiglia and Adrian "Can I Have An Older Brother Like That" Pasdar who play the "Flying and God Knows What Else" Petrelli siblings on the NBC drama, shared a tender moment for the cameras at the recent British Television Awards (held on Sunday, April 20).

Unlike some US imports (namely "Grey's Anatomy") that failed to capture a large following in the UK, "Heroes" pulls in almost 4 million people for the BBC.

Ventimiglia and Pasdar will be returning to the "Heroes" set next week to begin filming the show's 3rd season.

NBC has promised to produce more than the standard 22 episodes for next season and said "Heroes" will come back with a bang owing to a major event in the Fall.

VIDEO: Milo Ventimiglia on Regis & Kelly

"Young Italian Prince" (as Regis vividly put it) Milo Ventimiglia appeared on ABC's daytime talker Regis and Kelly on Tuesday morning to tout this week's opening of his new movie "Pathology."

Classy young actor says he begins shooting the 3rd season of NBC's "Heroes" May 1 and they'll be back full force. After all the criticism of season 2 and the long, strike-induced hiatus, they better be.

NBC's "Chuck," "Life" and "Heroes" Renewed for 2008/2009 Season

NBC announced on Wednesday the three scripted dramas that won't be coming back with new episodes this spring are renewed for the 2008/2009 season. The network also disclosed return dates for shows that will continue production immediately.

NBC exec Ben Silverman said all three dramas will get major relaunch campaigns in the fall.

"Chuck" and "Life" have been renewed for 13 episodes (the network may add more if they do well in the fall), while "Heroes" will be coming back for more than the standard 22 episodes (the exact number will be announced in the future).

Freshman dramas "Chuck" and "Life" have averaged 8.68 million and 8.11 million viewers, respectively.

In the early days of the writers' strike, NBC renewed both shows for a full first season of 22 episodes, but was forced to abandon that plan.

The 11-episode second season arc of "Heroes" titled "Generations" averaged 13.07 million viewers, down 9% from 14.37 million "Heroes" averaged last season.

NBC's other freshman dramas "Journeyman" and "The Bionic Woman" are not expected to return next season.

Meanwhile, NBC announced the following return dates for its hit scripted comedies and dramas:

"Medium" (Mondays, 10-11 p.m. ET)
Continues current run

April 3:
"My Name Is Earl" (Thursdays, 8-8:30 p.m. ET)
Resumes with one-hour episode

April 10:
"30 Rock" (Thursdays, 8:30-9 p.m. ET)
"The Office" (Thursdays, 9-9:30 p.m. ET)
"Scrubs" (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET)
"ER" (Thursdays, 10-11 p.m. ET)

April 15:
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (Tuesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET)

April 23:
"Law & Order" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET)

"Scrubs" which is in its final year will return April 10 with the 5 episodes already in the can. NBC has yet to announce if they will order any additional episodes to end the series deservingly. One of the options is for such episodes to go straight to DVD.

Meanwhile, future remains uncertain for "Friday Night Lights" which concluded its second season last Friday.

StarPix: Kristen Bell & Boyfriend in Miami

Spotted: "Heroes" babe and "Gossip Girl" blogger Kristen Bell with her boyfriend comic Dax Shepard while having fun on the beach following New Year's Eve Party at the Raleigh hotel in Miami on January 1.

Bell, who recently kicked her director fiancé Kevin Mann to the curb, is according to Page Six in New York Post not too eager to see herself and Shepard branded by the media as a couple.

In addition to her special guest starring role on NBC's "Heroes" (currently on hiatus) and voiceover duties on The CW's "Gossip Girl," Bell can also be seen in two feature films in 2008: "Fanboys" (January 14) and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (May 30).
