"Heroes" Apocalypse: All Characters To Die?
E! online has revealed today that in addition to two major character deaths on NBC's genre series "Heroes" this season (watch out for tonight's spectacular midseason cliffhanger), all of the heroes will die in episode #20 that takes place 5 years in the future.
According to spoilers revealed by Kristin Veitch in her weekly videocast "The Vine" the Tim Kring series may have set its end date.
Earlier this year the producers of ABC's "LOST" Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof shocked TV critics and fans of their cult drama when they announced that they have just passed the mid-series mark and they will end "LOST" at a to-be-determined yet set-in-advance point.
Following a similar announcement by the "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry who he wishes to conclude his award-winning series at the end of the 7th season, it seems a new trend of ending TV series on a (hopefully) creative high rather than a ratings low (as the practice has been thus far) may emerge in the future.
That is if those Nielsen-hungry broadcast networks will be willing to avoid the temptation of hiring other people to over-extend their hit series and evolve them into parodies of themselves.
"Heroes" concludes its "Are you on the list?" chapter with a cliffhanger episode tonight at 9/8c on NBC. The drama returns with the final arc of the season (including the apocalypse twist) on April 23.
