Was ABC Right To Cancel "Day Break"?

Last week's truly hideous ratings for ABC's "Day Break" (3,9 million viewers) prompted the network to cancel the show effective immediately and replace it with "George Lopez" reruns. Did the move pay off?

According to fresh ratings reports, ABC's "George Lopez" did manage to beat last week's "Day Break" numbers scoring 4,8 million viewers for holiday-themed reruns. Although those numbers are nothing to brag about, they are certainly an improvement over the original episode of "Day Break". All new episodes of the comedy are scheduled for January.

Elsewhere last night, NBC's week-long game show event "Identity" continued with success as the program gained 600,000 viewers over Tuesday night's telecast for a total of 8,82 million viewers. Two more installments will air this week.

CBS reruns won the night with CSI: NY at 10pm being the top show in America (12,02 mil).
