McCUDDLY & HIS BEAU?
As we are waiting to hear from Isaiah Washington or ABC to set the record straight and learn whether the star had indeed made homophobic remarks earlier this month or not, we have obtained paparazzi images of "Grey's Anatomy" gay star T.R. Knight who publicly came out in last week's edition of People Magazine.
T.R. Knight is seen here with Luke MacFarlane, a fellow actor who himself stars in an ABC drama. Unlike T.R. whose "Grey's" character George O'Malley may be the very first network TV heterosexual character played by an openly gay man, Luke MacFarlane can be seen in a gay role (Scotty) on ABC's Sunday night drama "Brothers and Sisters" and has played gay characters in the past. It is unclear at this point if Luke is T.R.'s boyfriend, but the two men have been seen frequently together in recent days. These images were taken last week in Hollywood.
Both characters may test American public's acceptance of homosexuality at this time, as T.R. Knight's George O'Malley will prove whether the audiences are willing to accept an openly gay man playing a heterosexual character, and Luke MacFarlane's Scotty will show how far a major US broadcast network is willing to go in portrayal of a major character's (Matthew Rhys as Kevin Walker) gay relationship.
