"GREY'S" T.R. KNIGHT IS GAY

T.R. Knight who plays George, the puppy-eyed surgeon on ABC's blockbuster hit-series "Grey's Anatomy" which has risen to the top of the Nielsen charts this fall as the #1 scripted drama in America, has told People magazine he is gay.

The 33-year old star says that there have been rumours concerning his sexuality and he wanted to quiet them by "coming out of the closet" in public. He added that he preferred to keep his private life private and hoped this would not be the most interesting part of his personality.

T.R. Knight who plays George O'Malley on ABC's red-hot medical drama is a former stage actor who has also appeared in CBS's CSI and NBC's "Law and Order". His character on "Grey's Anatomy" has long been in love with Ellen Pompeo's Dr. Meredith Grey and has romanced Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez).
