SEPTEMBER 23, 2007: "Desperate Housewife" Marcia Cross has joined the club of Hollywood thespians who star in international advertising campaigns. Check out Marcia's new commercial for Austrian TV in which her alter ego Bree Van De Kamp, a grieving widow, meets a later incarnation of the character, a happily married Bree Hodge, to try to learn the secret of perfectly white (as her new rival Katherine Mayfair would say - prize-winning) napkins and tablecloth. VIDEO: New "Diet Coke" Hunk Sizzles Across TV Screens in the UK

FEBRUARY 3, 2007: The "Diet Coke" hunk has returned. It's just that he is now French; he doesn't take his shirt off; he won't be coming to the US; and he is promoting "Diet Coke" (or "Coca-Cola Light" as the soft drink is known in Europe) across the Atlantic.

As the United Kingdom welcomed back the iconic "hunk" campaign, Coca Cola USA said it has no plans to return the Diet Coke "hunk" to domestic shores.

A spokesperson for Coca-Cola in Atlanta said new advertising will debut late in the first quarter of 2007, but it won't be the hunk.

"That's a completely different thing," she said of the hunk ads that premiered last week in the UK. "That's Coke Light."

The British "Diet Coke" ads are a return to the 1990s shirtless builder-hunk who took a his 11:30 soda break while a gaggle of female office workers gazed longingly from an office window above.

The ad is however much different this time around. Unlike the 1994 original, the new hunk - played by the 28-year-old Francois Xavier - is a company elevator engineer, who is kept very busy repeatedly rescuing office girls from a ‘faulty lift'.

It is said that Fix, as he is known, represents everything today’s woman wants in a man, including looks, a toned but not beefcake body, intelligence, warmth, sensitivity and fun.

I was going to title this post "Beckham Beckons," but I do have to keep these posts search-engine-friendly, so I guess I'll be skipping my glitzy headlines. Kiefer's 24-Style Citroen Ad

"24" may have lost some luster in the past season on FOX, but that can't be said for this funny Citroën ad Kiefer Sutherland filmed in São Paulo, Brazil which was inspired by the Emmy-winning series. Argentinian actress/model, Araceli González also stars. Thanks to Cibele for alerting me to this great ad.

ABC Continues "Dirty Sexy" Blog Campaign

ABC has continued its "Dirty Sexy Money" promo campaign on the Perez Hilton celebrity gossip blog hoping scandal-hungry audience that flocks to "Hollywood's most hated website" will tune into the September 26 premiere of the rookie sudser.

Following the initial post focusing on the character played by Samaire Armstrong, a total of 10 additional ads introducing the key characters Perez-style have been published over the past three weeks.

Kudos to ABC for yet another creative approach to marketing their freshman series. Generating the right kind of buzz is often more crucial to show's success than the actual quality of the end product. At least in the short run. And Perez and the wacky Darlings sure seem to be a great fit.

My favorite ad? The one where Rev. Brian Darling (Glenn Fitzgerald) looks guilty as sin as he meets with a mystery blond and a boy. Rumor has it, the unholy character has fathered an illegitimate child. How dirty sexy money of him.

DIRTY SEXY MONEY?

Family Lawyer Nick George does good with Darling gold

Funded by a generous grant from the Darling Family Foundation, Nick George was caught practically skipping with joy after he took his first steps in creating a non-profit promoting children’s welfare. Is this the first of its kind orphanage? Or perhaps a cover up for something shall we say, less than Darling?

OVER BEFORE IT BEGINS?

The socialite and the swinger

At their engagement party, celebutante Karen Darling looks less than interested in her fourth future ex-husband. Meanwhile, he only looks interested in getting his hands on her dirty sexy money. This golfing champ’s ladies-man rep is a major handicap on her course!

TRIPP THE LIGHT FANTASTIC

The Uber-Rich Darlings. Still happy after all these years?

High society grand dame Letitia Darling gleamed brighter than her diamonds as she and Tripp Darling celebrated 45 years of marriage at their palatial Upper East Side mansion. Attendees included ex-Presidents, billionaires, a Saudi prince, and of course, the 5 Darling children. With all those people basking in their dirty sexy money, it must have been awfully loud… or at least loud enough for Tripp to feign missing all the rumors about his “lovely” wife.

JEREMY LOOKS SMOKIN HOT

OMG! Talk about casual chic!

He’s dirty. He’s sexy. He is so money. Only Jeremy Darling could make a formal occasion look like an after-party… and for him, it probably is.

I want to go clubbing with this man! Just his overflow of babes would be enough to keep me occupied for weeks.

BUCKLE UP!

Now he’s safe, now he’s not

Future Senatorial candidate (?) and current D.A. Patrick Darling IV seeks some curbside counsel from the back seat of his town car. What kind of dirty sexy money does he pay his lawyer to make late-night sidewalk visits? And who’s that mysterious blonde companion in the back with him? So many questions, but one thing is clear: he’s strapped in for one helluva ride!

SHE'S GLOWING

Karen Darling basks in her own glow

The martini? Dirty. The red dress? Sexy. The diamond ring? Money, money, money.

I’m sure she has a great personality to go along with the package—as all her previous husbands can no doubt attest—but who cares?

ANOTHER ARGUMENT FOR BIRTH CONTROL

It’s not mine, I swear!

Stop us if you’ve seen this before…

Everyone’s favorite billionaire screw-up Jeremy Darling has another run-in with Johnny Law; this time it was down at the piers. What’s he done this time, smuggled in some Cubans on his new yacht? Cigars, I mean.

Maybe the Darling parents should just let the cops ship him away so they don’t have to deal with him. They’ve got four other kids to blow all their dirty sexy money on, don’t they?

FORGIVE THIS FATHER

Rev. Darling and mystery blond look guilty as sin.

Thank God for camera phones. Raised voices and close bodies hint that this is much more than a sidewalk confessional. There’s something dirty going on, something sexy… maybe even some money involved? What would Rev. Brian Darling’s socialite wife think if she saw this unholy tryst?

TRIPP SPECIAL

A deal goes down

New York power broker billionaire Tripp Darling met with lawyer Nick George on the banks of the Hudson River. A spywitness says that he arrived via helicopter. I wish I could avoid midtown traffic like that!

We’re not sure what kind of deal is going down here with Tripp and a do-gooder lawyer like little Nicky, but it doesn’t have the look of a typical Nick George charitable trust. Public servant lawyers usually don’t soil their hands with dirty sexy money like the Darlings’.

MONEY TALKS

But does it say anything intelligent?

The crowd around Devlin George’s funeral was more interested paying attention to the attendees than paying respects to the recently departed. Dirty, sexy, money boy Jeremy Darling was corralled by local reporters before he even got to the front door.

Sample question: “Do dead people make you sad? And can you buy us lunch?”

Nice work, local news guys. Way to keep us up to date on the big issues. How about telling us something about the plane crash the caused the funeral in the first place?

"Desperate Housewife" Teri Hatcher Models for Badgley Mischka

Teri Hatcher who plays klutzy Susan Mayer Delfino on ABC's "Desperate Housewives" is the new model for the 2007 fall campaign for American fashion label Badgley Mischka who designed the second wedding dress worn by Kristin Davis as Charlotte York on HBO's classic series "Sex and the City."

The label established by Mark Badgley and James Mischka in 1988 is known for red-carpet-style evening wear popular with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey.

They recently launched a new line of denim, swimwear and sunglasses. The label also owns a successful bridal business founded in 1993.

The Olson twins and Sharon Stone had been hired as spokespersons for the label in the past.

The designers had already created a gown for Teri Hatcher she wore to the Emmys back in the 90s when she starred on ABC's "Lois & Clark."

They allegedly asked Teri to model for them after bumping into her at last May's "American Idol" finale.

The photo shoot took place at a Bel Air, California mansion.

Teri wore a sultry and sexy black lame evening gown, a purple gown with a jeweled collar, a blouson cocktail dress and a cotton tweed pantsuit — accessorized with a python handbag.

The ads will run next month, when all fashion houses roll out their fall campaigns making September issues of major fashion and beauty magazines the thickest of the year.

ABC's "Dirty Sexy" Blog Campaign

Earlier today, ABC launched an unorthodox advertising campaign for its new fall sudser "Dirty Sexy Money" on the Perez Hilton blog with star Samaire Armstrong (Anna on "The O.C.") presented in a paparazzi-style image as the drama's troublemaking daughter Juliet Darling.

The post entitled "Puleeeze!" (a staple on Hilton's blog) stands out on yellow background and reads:

"It turns out the only place Juliet Darling can really act and react is in front of the press. When questioned about her less than stellar reviews for her stage debut, she had three words for the media, 'well, you’re poor!' Goes to show that even with scads of dirty sexy money, you can’t buy talent or class."

Earlier this year, ABC came up with another inventive idea to promote their new Dynasty-esque series - while the reporters were waiting to see the sheriff pick up Paris Hilton and take her to court, a plane flew across the sky carrying the sign "We Love Paris - The Darling Family."

ABC has used such creative ways to promote its new shows in the past as well - before the 2004 debuts of "LOST" and "Desperate Housewives" the network advertised the dramas placing letters from LOST castaways into bottles of water in restaurants and putting Desperate slogan and logo on dry cleaning bags.
