VIDEO: New "Diet Coke" Hunk Sizzles Across TV Screens in the UK

FEBRUARY 3, 2007: The "Diet Coke" hunk has returned. It's just that he is now French; he doesn't take his shirt off; he won't be coming to the US; and he is promoting "Diet Coke" (or "Coca-Cola Light" as the soft drink is known in Europe) across the Atlantic.

As the United Kingdom welcomed back the iconic "hunk" campaign, Coca Cola USA said it has no plans to return the Diet Coke "hunk" to domestic shores.

A spokesperson for Coca-Cola in Atlanta said new advertising will debut late in the first quarter of 2007, but it won't be the hunk.

"That's a completely different thing," she said of the hunk ads that premiered last week in the UK. "That's Coke Light."

The British "Diet Coke" ads are a return to the 1990s shirtless builder-hunk who took a his 11:30 soda break while a gaggle of female office workers gazed longingly from an office window above.

The ad is however much different this time around. Unlike the 1994 original, the new hunk - played by the 28-year-old Francois Xavier - is a company elevator engineer, who is kept very busy repeatedly rescuing office girls from a ‘faulty lift'.

It is said that Fix, as he is known, represents everything today’s woman wants in a man, including looks, a toned but not beefcake body, intelligence, warmth, sensitivity and fun.

How could I forget? :) Well, I understand he is running his own restaurant in L.A. called "Lucky Devil". He tried acting, but apart from a role on Aaron Spelling's "Pacific Palisades" in 1997, appearances on "Will & Grace" in 1999 and "Two and a Half Men" in 2003, it didn't really go anywhere. Too many cheesy movies in between.
