"X-Files 2" Begins Production
Production has begun on the sequel to the 1998 theatrical version of the cult Fox series "The X-Files." Joining creator Chris Carter and actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who will reprise their signature roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, is "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" star Amanda Peet.
Lensing began on Monday in Vancouver, Canada.
The movie is described as a stand-alone story and supernatural thriller that takes the complicated relationship between Mulder and Scully in new directions.
"The X-Files" (1993-2002) became a major international hit for the Fox network and the 1998 movie went on to gross $187 million worldwide.
Rapper Xzibit was also cast alongside Peet as a new FBI agent. "X-Files 2" will be released nationwide on July 25, 2008.

Can't wait!
Hopefully the script will be good...
I really enjoyed "Fight the Future" even though it was stand-alone.
