"Desperate" Halloween Tops Sunday
Although 32 million viewers who watched football overrun on CBS helped veteran newsmagazine take honors for the top-rated show of the evening, ABC's "Desperate Housewives" won the night as the hottest scripted hour and the #1 among adults 18-49 overall.
Meanwhile, CBS will hardly regret the decision to replace the anemic "Viva Laughlin" with a new cycle of "The Amazing Race" as almost 14 million viewers tuned into the season premiere of the popular reality contest.
Proving there's still Nielsen muscle in almost 2 decades old "Simpsons," FOX's signature animated series rose to #1 in adults 18-49 in its timeslot with the trademark Halloween special and bested 100th episode of "Family Guy" in total viewers.
