Sheryl Lee Replaces Brooke Smith on "Dirty Sexy Money"

ABC has announced actress Brooke Smith who has just become series regular on the smash hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" will be replaced in her role as Andrea, Brian Jr.'s mother on "Dirty Sexy Money" by "Twin Peaks" star Sheryl Lee.

Smith appeared in the closing moments of the pilot episode of "Money" which was filmed in late March 2007.

Given her recent promotion to series regular on "Grey's Anatomy" as well as commitments on Showtime's "Weeds" the producers decided to recast the role.

Sheryl Lee first shot to fame as the deceased Laura Palmer on David Lynch's cult ABC series "Twin Peaks" starring Kyle McLachlan.

The actress also played Mary-Alice Young in the original, unaired pilot of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," but was later replaced by Brenda Strong.

On "Dirty Sexy Money" Lee appears as Brian Jr.'s mom in the November 14 episode "The Wedding" following a 2-month Brazillian getaway to reclaim her son, to whom Brian Sr. is now attached. A bitter custody battle ensues and ends in someone's arrest.
