ABC's "Big Shots" To Get Cancelled?
The production on ABC's freshman drama "Big Shots" starring Michael Vartan is shutting down and the studio has informed the cast and crew on Thursday they won't be coming back after the strike, reports Nikki Finn.
The show which airs on Thursdays at 10 regularly loses over half of the audience of its blockbuster lead-in "Grey's Anatomy."
Last night, an extended episode of "Grey's" which ran till 10:07 scored 19.30 million viewers, while "Big Shots" retained 8.62 million.
Those figures are however heavily impacted by those 7 minutes, and once the final ratings are released, the ratings for "Big Shots" will be even worse.
The network has already preempted "Big Shots" the next two Thursdays; an all-new "Women's Murder Club" airs on November 15 and the 2nd season premiere of "October Road" airs a week after, on Thanksgiving.
ABC has yet to make any official statements about the fate of "Big Shots."

As someone currently working on Big Shots I can say that this is NOT TRUE! The show has not been canceled and is not being canceled. The strike will eventually shut production down, but we are continuing to shoot for at least a couple more weeks.

This doesn't surprise me. I thought it would be cancelled sooner. Aside from the ratings none of the characters are compelling, writing is bad and they are trying to hard to make it Desperate Housewives with wimpy whiny men who are supposed to be cut throat CEOs. Please.
If you ask me, I think the show is toast. Waste of the Grey's leadin.
I love Big Shots...I used to be a dedicated Grey's Anatomy fan, but they have successfully exhausted the story line. If anything should be cancelled it's Grey's...I'm so over Meredith's issues with men.
My friend and I are obsessed with this show... it kicks Greys ass and should never be cancelled! Big shots is hysterical and just the upper one needs after wathcing the depressing shit on greys...
As a MAN, I enjoy this show. It's a tv series that does a great job giving the perspective of a man in life. Maybe the problem is that ABC isn't targeting its demographic audience or should switch to an audience that would appreciate this, men from the ages 18 to 65 would definitely enjoy this. Also, it doesn't help when its behind Grey's Anatomy. I say keep the show but just target it better for men. If you look at ABC, it's structured for women with talk shows, then soaps, followed by more soaps, then the news, followed by some game shows, then bam, women's fest tv, so of course women won't like what they see on Big Shots because it's geared for men. How about ABC package a timeline for MEN'S TV...you start off with Cavemen, Carpoolers and finish it off with Big Shots. And put it on a Wednesday, you don't want to compete with Fox's House on Tuesdays, or Fox's 24 on Mondays. Wednesdays would definitely work.
I absolutely love Big Shots! It is really very entertaining and funny. I hope they give it a chance. I really like it. I actually stopped watching ER for this show. It is a nice switch. Please don't cancel this show. There is more steam left.
give it a chance for god's sake- it's a great show- refreshing change from the same old same, old tired story line of grey's. it's racy and it's entertaining. leave it alone.
Of course ABC would make a move like that and put it aside for two weeks to allow October Road to come back after how many months away???? Do people even remember October road???? Good Job ABC bring back "OR" and get it cancelled quick to bring Big Shots Back.......Wonder what there going to do with Housewives when Eva leaves.

I really hope this show does not get cancelled. It has great actors and great plots. If anything should get cancelled, it should be Private Practice. I used to be a big Grey's Anatomy fan, but lately, it seems like the writers are desperate.
Big Shots is a great show, and ABC should advertise it more because a lot of people have not even heard of it. And also, they should try moving it around on another night.

I was really looking forward to last night's episode only to find some new show airing, then flipped the channel
in total dissapointment!
I think this a complete mistake if they cancel BIG SHOTS... it has a great cast, great humor. I watched Greys since it started and this season lost interest, however BIGSHOTS has more potential then Greys ever had....This would be a tremendous mistake if ABC decides to do this...def not a smart move. Maybe they should listen to the viewers!

I think this is a HUGE mistake i LOVE Big Shots it's new and exciting and not just for men it give lots for the ladies too, the mean happen to be gorgeous!!!!!!!!! It's refreshing especially after the overplayed Grey's Anatomy which is going over and over the same topic! BORING!!!!!!!!
I hope Big Shots comes back! I watch it on ABC.com every weekend (when a new one is posted). It's fresh and exciting, as opposed to Grey's which refuses to get new material...

It is a great show, I was very dissapointed when I did not see it on Thursday night. I Tivo it every week. Some of the script is to over the top, especially Duncan character, who is way to obsessed about himself to care about anyone elses problems, but I like the rest of the cast. Definately a keeper! Also, Grey's Anatomy, never watched it and never will.

I am in love with Big Shots..I have even changed my date plans to be around to watch this well-scripted well-acted quick witty, male sex and the city drama!!! Big Shots is top of "The Line Entertainment" for today's men. I love the show,it gives good balance to Television....I had even started watching TV again on Thursday nights. Since Grey's Anatomy turned into a chick flick...how depressing.
Pul eeze do not cancel Big Shots! My wife and I both enjoy it. I agree with the posts about Greys Anatomy. It's now predictable and boring, not so with Big Shots! The story line could continue for a long long time before reaching the point of cancellation. ABC needs to rethink their move here!
Please don't cancel Big Shots. It is awesome! It is delightful and comedic and it has drama and truth and is great entertainment with awesome acting! It is truly refreshing to watch since all the ridiculous reality shows have taken over television. Why not cancel all of those plus cancel Pushing Daisies, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy, they stink and are so overrated! I used to be stuck on Grey's until Private practice actress Kate Walsh left. She was so adorable with her McSteamy, Eric Dane. McDreamy can keep Meredith, that story line is dead already! McSteamy needs to transfer over to Private Practice where he could be recognized for what he is, the sexiest man alive! You people are making huge mistakes with the best series on television. Big Shots is tops and will be a true loss if canceled! It is in the wrong time slot to be loved the way it should be, no one watches the later hour slots anymore. Put it on before all those pitiful ones mentioned above.
Yes, it is over... Ran into Christopher Titus at starbucks 2 weeks and asked him and he confirmed it, then went to to the WB lot a few days ago where it was filmed and the shows sets have been torn down and ER has taken up residence there.
PLEASE PLEASE no! If jerico fans can send peanuts to get that show back on, there must be something we can do!!!! This show was great! It NEEDS to be brought back! Oh God PLEASE bring Big Shots back!
please please PLEASE bring back this show...im still hanging from a serious cliff and i dont know what to do without big shots...this show was amazing and i used to try to find the episode before it aired cause i could not wait...please bring it back..i will advertise by mouth to everyone!!!!!
