TV Ratings: Solid Start for "Desperate Housewives" & "Brothers & Sisters" (9/30/07)
"Desperate Housewives" was the most watched show in America last night pulling in 18.98 million viewers, while its lead-out "Brothers & Sisters" retained 70% of that audience and scored 13.26 million.
Although both shows did much better one year ago (24.09 million and 15.69 million, respectively) some of that loss may of course be attributed to a strong increase in DVR penetration in the US.
Also, "Brothers & Sisters" was stronger than in the spring of this year; it did much better job retaining "Desperate Housewives" audience and it pulled in almost twice as many 18-49 people than the competing "Shark" on CBS (5.1 vs. 2.7).
"Cold Case" on CBS (13.56 million) and "Sunday Night Football" on NBC (13.32 million) also did very well last night.

I wish CBS would pit Cold Case against B&S so I can watch it again.
DH was very good last night, definietly going to be a good season.
DH was amazing last night. Looks like it could be a very good mystery and although I have little idea of where it will go, it almost felt like they gave a bit too much away. Perhaps the May finale would've been a good time to finish Edie's storyline for good.
Nah, they always "give away" alot. Usually, they toss us a few red herrings as well. I am definetly liking the new characters. Seems to be interesting. Although there is nothing to watch at 10PM, I'm sure I'll find something.
