Dania Ramirez Joins NBC's "Heroes"
The Dominican Republic-born Dania Ramirez who plays a recurring character on HBO's "The Sopranos" has joined NBC's genre hit "Heroes" as one of the 4-5 characters who will be added in the superhero drama's second season.
Ramirez is expected to play a hot young female hero Maya, whose powers, as always, remain confidential.
Dania's character may be the only new regular added to the show in the second season which begins shooting later this month.
The other roles will also have international flavor, including a sexy boyfriend for Claire, a 28-year-old black mother, a surrogate for Niki's son and an Irish mobster.
Recently, TV Squad speculated that a lesbian cheerleader would be joining the drama in its second attempt to feature a gay character.
It is not clear at this early point if Dania Ramirez (who also appeared in FOX's blockbuster theatrical "X-Men: The Last Stand") will play that character.
The drama was forced to "straighten-out" its original gay character Zach (played by Thomas Dekker from FOX's upcoming "The Sarah Connor Chronicles") after his management complained to NBC.
