Weekly Ratings: NBC Remains at Historic Lows
"American Idol" has powered FOX to 1st place finish in the key 18-49 demo for 12th straight week, as NBC remains at the very bottom with just 2 of the top-20 programs in the key demo.
Although its ratings have fallen as the sixth cycle progressed, "American Idol" remains firmly at the top of the ratings chart with over 26,5 million viewers and an enviable 4.5 rating in the 18-49 demo for the week ending April 29.
NBC's top show "Heroes" scored 11,96 million viewers, but failed to make it to the top-20 in the Total Viewers Chart. The drama was however #7 on the 18-49 Chart. The network's other top-20 entry was "The Office" at #19.
NBC did very badly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as all programs it aired scored a rating lower than 2.
"Grey's Anatomy" was the scripted drama with the highest rating on both charts. FOX's "House" however pulled in more viewers than "Grey's" (20.07 million vs. 20,8 million.)
The season finale of "October Road" won its timeslot and made it to #16 on the 18-49 chart.
Once the final ratings came in ABC's "Desperate Housewives" scored 17,1 million viewers and not 16,85 million as initially reported.
"Brothers & Sisters" also made it to the top-20 on both charts pulling in more 18-49 viewers than "Dancing with the Stars" results show, "Two and a Half Men" or "24".
