TV Ratings: ABC & CBS Share Victory on Sunday
ABC and CBS shared the ratings victory on Sunday night with the Alphabet network being superior in the 18-49 demo and the Eye network besting ABC in overall viewers. ABC's winning margin among the viewers that matter to advertisers was however much wider.
"60 Minutes" opened the night for CBS winning the timeslot with 11,24 million viewers. ABC was second with "America's Funniest Videos" which scored 7,64 million viewers.
Then at 8 p.m. the season finale of "The Amazing Race: All Stars" (10,54 million) failed to top ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (11,62 million).
Although down almost 5 million from the same night last year, "Desperate Housewives" (star Teri Hatcher pictured above at last night's "Shrek 3" premiere in Hollywood) still managed to win the 9 p.m. timeslot with 16,92 million viewers.
NBC aired a 2-hour "Saturday Night Live: Pop Culture Nation," but the special scored similar numbers to network's lackluster reality line-up (7,89 million.)
Finally, kudos to "Brothers & Sisters" (11,23 million.) Despite a weaker lead-in the family drama continues to attract its regular audience and win the timeslot in the 18-49 demo.
