Lauren Graham Responds to "Gilmore Girls" Cancellation
"Gilmore Girls" star Lauren Graham, who attended the opening of a new Escada boutique in Hollywood on Thursday, responded to her show's cancellation while taping a segment for the Ellen talk show scheduled to air next week on Tuesday.
Graham, who along with her on-screen daughter had been involved in long-running contract talks with the CW network said: "It was a conversation that was going on for a long time. I think it's really a good thing.... It's the best thing for the show, and I feel really good about it."
Following the departure of creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (also because of failed contract talks) the CW series dipped in the ratings this season, down about 25% from this time last year.
Miami Herald reports, in her Ellen segment, Graham will toast the series' end by throwing back a mojito delivered to her and a La-Z-Boy-ridden Ellen by a remote-controlled robot.
