CBS Cancels "Jericho," "Class" & "Close to Home"
Having the most stable line-up of all networks, CBS has canceled only three shows this spring, giving critically-acclaimed bubble comedy "How I Met Your Mother" a renewal.
Apocalypse drama "Jericho," and Friday night procedural "Close to Home" as well as Monday night comedy "The Class" have all been canceled.
Although "Close to Home" did relatively well in total viewers on Friday nights, the drama did very badly in the crucial 18-49 demo.
"Jericho" lost steam after it returned from spring hiatus. The drama lost over 3 million viewers and averaged less than 8 million.
Finally, "The Class" struggled in the Monday night comedy block as did "How I Met Your Mother" and "Old Christine" (once it was moved to 8:30), but in the end only "Class" got the axe.
17 programs have been renewed for a new season.

CBS has it all together eh?
Jericho could've pulled it together in the second season. It was a really great show. Same with The Class. If CBS would've promoted it as well as it does How I Met Your Mother (putting the casts on talk shows), it would've had better ratings.
Jericho and Class two of the best shows on this season. How can CBS keep "Cristine" that is one show that I always turn off. They should ask the public what they want!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it weren't for Hamish Linklater in The Adventures of Old Christine, I wouldn't be watching it.
I loved The Class and I was so happy to see where it was heading, but I'm so sad to hear it got canned. :( I hate it when CBS was on the fence on this.
