TV Ratings: FOX Beats All Networks Combined
The 2-hour British Invasion edition of "American Idol" decimated all competition on Tuesday night scoring 29,43 million viewers on average and climaxing in the final half-hour with over 32 million pairs of eyeballs tuning in.
CBS's combination of NCIS (15,49 million), The Unit (starring Dennis Haysbert, pictured above, 12,04 million) and a repeat of C.S.I. (9,95 million) held up pretty well against the FOX juggernaut for a solid second place and an average of 12,65 million viewers across its 3-hour schedule.
NBC and ABC were in the distant third and fourth place with rather unimpressive numbers averaging a little over 6 million viewers. An original episode of "Boston Legal" at 10pm finished behind the C.S.I. repeat with 9,05 million.
Finally, "Pussycat Dolls" built on the low numbers of its "Gilmore Girls" repeat lead-in with 3,04 million viewers. It'll be interesting to see if the encore telecast in the post-"Top Model" slot on Wednesday night gets higher numbers again.
