"Flashes Before Your Eyes": Tonight's LOST - Best Episode Ever?
FEBRUARY 14, 2007: Critics are raving - tonight's astonishing episode of ABC's "LOST" may very well be its best episode yet, including a mind-blowing flashback that, as USA Today put it, "takes a risk and accomplishes at a level few others even try to reach".
Similarly to last year's out-of-the-box episode that depicted the first 48 days of survivors of the tail section of the Oceanic flight 815, this year's extraordinary episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes" drops a story bomb and spins the show off into totally new territory via a stunning flashback.
There will be no Others in this episode. We will not see the central troika of Jack, Kate and Sawyer. And even many of the survivors we left on the beach will not appear in this episode.
The Desmond-centric and visually-compelling episode brings back Sonya Walger as Desmond's love Penny Widmore and Ugly Betty's Alan Dale as Charles Widmore. They will appear in the flashback along with Fionnula Flanagan who plays a Ms. Hawking.
In the episode, a suspicious and determined Hurley enlists Charlie to help him wrangle the truth out of Desmond, who has been acting strangely ever since the implosion of the hatch.
Rumor has it, Desmond tells Charlie he will die and there is nothing he can do about this.
His flashback supposedly takes place in London in the mid 1990s in which he walks out of Wildmore Industries and opens his tie in frustration.
He then spots Charlie singing "Wonderwall" on his guitar, collecting change at the corner and suddenly has a flash of deja-vu.
He shouts: "Remember the rain? It happened before!" and "This is happening!"
The episode will ask a question of fate - is it possible to change our paths, or does the universe want what it wants without input from us?
And don't forget what the female voice said in the Clockwork Orange style brainwashing scene played backwards last week - only fools are slaves of space and TIME.

Thanks Henry, um, I mean Justin! ;)
I am SO looking forward to tonight's episode. Up here in Canada, we get it at 8pm! But the trailers from the US are so much better! I hope the ratings keep at around 14.5 million! NO OTHERS! YAY!
Hey Justin, have fun on your trip. Looks like the ratings took a tumble to a series low. I wonder what ABC is going to do now, sigh...they really screwed up big time...
