Ugly Betty #112: "Sofia's Choice": Revelations at "Boylesque"
Salma Hayek leaves as Sofia's true colors are exposed; Hunter is BUY-sexual; Wilhelmina goes soft the old-fashioned way and Amanda pulls a Jennifer Garner.
How hysterical was this episode? From Judith Light guzzling a bottle of wine after her son's heart had been ripped to shreds on national television, to our dearest Betty throwing a beanbag chair at Ugly Ruthie (the amazing Becki Newton in her dual role this week), to Amanda (Ms. Newton in her original role) attacking the conniving Sofia with her designer bag in front of a giant background photo of a high heel in the company elevator. This episode had it all.
Also, Wilhelmina's tender manner came to an abrupt end after her Texan boyfriend bid farewell (the actor moves on to guest star on NBC's Texas-based "Friday Night Lights"). How good to see her back in her white-coat don't-mess-with-me element firing what's-his-name? The bitch was back!
I even had to laugh when Sofia said a book about her life is being made into a movie and Penelope Cruz (Salma Hayek's real life pal) is dying to play the part.
Christina once again fired off some of the best lines in the episode ("I'm assuming everything is à la carte", while she was staring at scantily clad Hunter).
Finally, how many of you actually went to check those allegedly compromising images of Mark on dudecruise.com only to end up on Ugly Betty's homepage? What a bummer!
Next week it gets even uglier as Wilhelmina tries to take control of Mode.
