Grey's Anatomy Wins Favorite Drama At People's Choice Awards
JANUARY 10, 2007: The cast of "Grey's Anatomy" picked up the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Drama" on Tuesday in a CBS show filled with Hollywood stars and jokes about Britney Spears and her panties.
The People's Choice Awards are one of the first award shows in the two-month season filled with award celebrations leading up to the February 25 telecast of Academy Awards or as they are better known "The Oscars".
Hit hospital show "Grey's Anatomy" won the award for Favorite Drama and its star Patrick Dempsey was named Favorite Male Star. Favorite Female Star was "Desperate Housewives" vixen Eva Longoria.
In other television-related categories, "Two and a Half Men" was Favorite Comedy, "The Simpsons" was once again Favorite Animated Comedy, "The Class" was named Favorite New Comedy, and comedian Ellen DeGeneres was Favorite Talk Show Host.
Favorite New Drama was NBC's "Heroes" and FOX's soon-to-return blockbuster "American Idol" was named Favorite Competition/Reality Show.
The CBS show from the Shrine Auditorium was hosted by Queen Latifah.
