Dekker Manager Blamed For NBC Gay Controversy
The management of Thomas Dekker, the young actor who plays Zach, the sexually ambivalent sidekick to "Heroes" cheerleader Claire, is responsible for NBC converting the character to heterosexuality, reports TV Guide today.
According to the magazine's spoiler and gossip guru Michael Ausiello, the network and the writers of the show found it "too complicated to push this issue further with this particular character".
The management of Thomas Dekker had allegedly "come down with a severe case of gay panic syndrome" and demanded that the network change their plans for the character threatening to pull their client if the request is not met. Although Dekker does not have star billing on the show, the network surprisingly gave into the demand.
The manager has yet to issue her statement on the issue.
Dekker, a former child actor who has worked in the industry since 1993, has already played a gay character on The WB's soap-opera backstage parody "Grosse Pointe" in 2000.
The actor has recently been cast in a "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" pilot for FOX.

His manager is an idiot. All of this is gonna backfire on them big time. If Dekker doesn't fire her, he should really look for a new management/manager to do a better job.
