"30 Rock" Picked Up, "3 Lbs." Canceled
Following an encouraging performance of Tina Fey's "30 Rock" last night, NBC has picked up the freshman comedy for the rest of the season. The network has now picked up all of their new series except for "Kidnapped" and "20 Good Years".
Although yesterday's "30 Rock" posted a little over 6 million total viewers and was the weakest link in the network's freshly revamped "Must See TV" line-up, it also posted its best 18-49 figures ever and was up 25% from its previous episode.
NBC has decided to stick with the show for the rest of the season as they have a strong intention to rebuild the quality comedy line-up on the night that belonged to the network for many years in the past.
Elsewhere, there might truly be a CBS Tuesday night curse at 10pm, as the network pulled their rookie series "3 lbs." from the line-up earlier this week. The series did even worse than its predecessor "Smith" starring Ray Liotta.
