"Desperate" Christmas Strikes Nielsen Gold
Shocking twists and turns filled the Christmas hour of "Desperate Housewives" on ABC last night as Lynette realized her neighbor was indeed a pedophile and Alma, the former wife of Orson Hodge we presumed dead, was revealed to be very much alive and plotting behind the scenes with her former mother-in-law, Gloria. The episode soared to the top of the Nielsen chart last night scoring 21,39 million viewers.
"Brothers and Sisters" was dearly missed at 10pm as "Boston Legal" took over its old timeslot for one night only scoring similar numbers to "Brothers and Sisters".
CBS successfully replaced procedurals with a made-for "Candles on Bay Street" which averaged almost 13 million viewers from 9 to 11pm.
Over on FOX, NFL Overrun helped the network get some of the best prime-time numbers in recent weeks (21,10 million).
