MILKING "THE O.C." FOR ALL ITS WORTH
FOX's fading teen drama "The O.C." launches its fourth season on Thursday, November 2nd and although the ratings are not what they used to be, its well-oiled merchandising machinery is going full speed ahead cashing in on the dying drama while it still can.
The show which is known for quality indie tracks as much its melodramatic bubble-gum plot twists will this year feature a mix of independent artists covering one another. It's indie doing indie as Imogen Heap do an acapella version of "Hallelujah", Mates of State do the theme song "California" and Tally Hall covers "Smile Like You Mean It" by The Killers. The compilation will be The O.C.'s sixth soundtrack and it will be released as "MetaMix" in early December.
Also, if you wish to smell like a teenage girl who enjoys drunken parties in Tijuana and shoots her boyfriend's brother in the back (that would be fruity, floral scent) or a teenage boy who helps his brother steal a car and burns down a model home (refreshingly earthy, classic scent) than you might want to go for "The O.C. for Her" or "The O.C. for Him" a new fragrance line developed by AMC Beauty.
