AN ADORABLE OTHER
May I just use this opportunity to thank whoever is responsible for casting Elizabeth Mitchell as Jack's nemesis and possible love-interest Juliet on "LOST"? Now, I seriously can't think of a more compelling way to introduce the bizarre world of the infamous and frightening "Others" than through the warmth, poignancy and depth that Elizabeth Mitchell brings to this complex and impossible-to-define character.
The actress who starred in medical drama ER and Tim Allen's Santa Claus movies (she will reprise her role of Mrs. Claus in the November 3rd sequel) gave an interview to the official ABC Lost podcast.
She said Juliet is one of the more difficult roles in her career as she is a character who is not a hero nor a villain and has a very unique sense of humour. The actress praised the brilliant writing of Lost honchos Cuse and Lindelof and said it was a lot of fun to literally grab Jack (I bet it was) and explore the relationship between their two characters.
Elizabeth had been a fan of the series before she was cast, so when she came onto the set she had already known everyone and was very happy to see there were no prima donnas, just a great team of hardworking actors.
Later on, the producers explained they were about to make her relationship with Jack even more complex and based on what they had seen so far, Elizabeth is a great actress and the producers are extremely happy with her performance.
