Sarah Jessica Parker Shoots "Sex" Print Ad

While at least one of the two knock-offs of her cult HBO comedy "Sex and the City" is not doing too well in the ratings, Sarah Jessica Parker is getting ready for a big 2008 comeback shooting a new print campaign for her theatrical in New York City on Thursday.

Meanwhile, New Line has released the poster for
"Sex and the City: Movie" which opens nationwide May 30. The new tagline for the highly anticipated movie is "Get Carried Away." Scroll down for 19 images from yesterday's photo shoot.

'Samantha Jones' Opens Harrods Summer Sale

'Sex and the City' star Kim Cattrall who plays the bedhopping man-eater Samantha Jones in the classic HBO comedy and current box office hit, opened Harrods summer sale in London on Monday and was given a personal tour of the luxury store by owner Mohamed al Fayed.

Female celebrities like Eva Longoria Parker and Sarah Michelle Gellar opened winter and summer sales for the ritzy Knightsbridge store in the past.

Cattrall, 51, who arrived at the store in a horse-drawn carriage (as did her predecessors), greeted shoppers dressed in a cream dress and strappy shoes by Givenchy, teamed with a Dries Van Noten jacket.

Cattrall kept smiling for the cameras despite the noise being made by a group of anti-fur protesters who were picketing the store.

Cattrall was born in Liverpool, where she spent the first 3 years of her life, before her family emigrated to Canada.

The actress, who therefore consideres herself a Brit, said it was "a real thrill for [her] to open the sale at one of the UK's national institutions."

A note for all "Sex and the City" lovers - I have now added Sex and the City Movie link to the pull down menu above.

By clicking on the SATC category you can see all of my posts about the movie since last summer including candid images from the set, movie stills, the Oprah interview and more.

"Sex and the City: The Movie" will have been out for 3 weeks on Friday and it has already made over $260 million worldwide. Not too shabby for a movie that cost only $65 million to produce.

The movie is now a top-5 movie of 2008 both in the US and around the world and is expected to become one of the top-10 romantic comedies of all time.

Yes, there is a point in the middle when the movie appears to climax a bit too soon, but the magic is most certainly there, and that is why I can't wait to see it again later this week.

VIDEO: Sarah Jessica Parker on "The View"

As "Sex and the City" continues to pull in the dough (the movie made over $115 million across the globe within the first 7 days of release), its principal stars continue to generate buzz hoping for more eyeballs and repeat business. Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance on yesterday's "View" to talk about...

...her feeling that the timing for the movie was right; what kind of details she had to take care of while producing the movie; how many costumes her character Carrie Bradshaw changes in the movie; why she was reluctant to join the original series and if there will be a sequel at some point in the future.

"Sex and the City" Scores #1 at Box Office

They knew it would be huge, but no one really expected "Sex and the City: the Movie" to go this far. The R-rated female romantic comedy grossed $55.7 million in 3,285 theaters ranking No. 1 in North America this weekend.

The flick opened as the biggest R-rated comedy motion picture ever and the 5th biggest R-rated film ever released (behind The Matrix, The Passion Of The Christ, 300, and Hannibal).

The movie also scored 3rd biggest opening of the year and is already 18th hottest movie of 2008 after only 3 days of release. The analysts expect the movie to go all the way into the top-5.

"Sex and the City: The Movie" has already opened in many international markets which will further add to its box office revenue.

The film was produced for only $65 million. Since distributors usually keep half the revenue, movies are normally expected to earn at least double the production and marketing cost to break even.

It appears that won't be a problem for this movie, so a great portion of the future revenue from pay TV, basic cable, broadcast TV, DVD sales , rentals and other streams will generate huge profits for the studio.

No wonder Warner Bros is already planning a sequel.

"Sex and the City" After-Party

Samantha Jones eat your PDA out. Kristin Davis who plays "Sex and the City's" most sensitive and romantic character Charlotte York, enjoyed some hunky semi-naked company at last night's "Sex and the City" after party in London, UK.

Davis appears in a risqué shower scene in the movie which she was allegedly very uncomfortable with. Rumor has it, co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall refused to do nude scenes and only Nixon agreed to bare all.

Except for Parker, all actresses appeared topless on more than one occasion during the show's 6-year run on cable's HBO. But it has been 10 years since the show premiered in 1998 and the "Sex" stars are no longer willing to push the envelope.

VIDEO Update: "Sex and the City: The Movie" Premieres in London

Earlier today "Sex and the City" stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Catrall and Kristin Davis gathered on the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, UK for the world premiere of the movie version of their classic HBO comedy.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the main character Carrie Bradshaw appeared first, wearing a pale green dress by British designer Alexander McQueen and a spectacular green headpiece of flowers by Philip Treacy.

British-born Kim Cattrall, who plays the bed-hopping PR executive Samantha Jones, was next on to the red carpet, wearing a red off-the-shoulder knee-length dress with a faint stripe by Vivienne Westwood.

Cynthia Nixon, who plays feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbes, arrived wearing a floor-length pleated black Calvin Klein dress slashed to reveal her thighs.

Kristin Davis, who plays the hopelessly romantic Charlotte York, was the last of the famous foursome to arrive, wearing a cherry-red vintage sleeveless dress and cream peep-toe heels.

The producers allegedly chose London for the world premiere to emphasize the movie's global appeal. "Sex and the City" opens in Britain on May 28 and in the US on May 30.
