Paris Hilton Says "That's Hot!" on NBC's "My Name is Earl"

Heiress and socialite Paris Hilton, who is currently in Istanbul belly dancing at the Miss Turkey pageant, will pull a Britney as she guest stars on NBC's sitcom "My Name is Earl," which launches post-strike episodes with a one-hour opener next Thursday, April 3.

According to a network press release, Alyssa Milano also returns in the episode and NBC CEO Jeff Zucker does a little recap intro catching the viewers up on the show. As for the spoilers:

Earl (Jason Lee) is still lying in the middle of the road next to Billie (Alyssa Milano), both of whom are unconscious after being hit by a car. The accident puts Earl in a coma and takes him to an alternate world in the form of a sitcom.

Stuck in a fevered state, Earl is visited by Paris Hilton in his dream. Has Earl's bad karma finally gotten the best of him? Will he find the strength to survive his coma?

The Hilton Meets Da Hilton

Kids! Don't do this at home. Blogging makes you fat. Political incorrectness aside, what was former jailbird socialite Paris plotting to do during her beach encounter with the upcoming VH-1 star Prezzle the Blogger on Sunday? Revenge against those hard-stalking men of X17?

The ladies of ABC's now-tedious talker "The View" attacked the notorious celebrity blogger for ridiculing celebrities' children and outing an army of gay actors in Tinseltown ignoring his announcement of the new celebrity magazine he is developing with D-list obsessed VH-1.

Paris Hilton Gives Larry King a Boost

Paris Hilton gave Larry King his best ratings in two years helping veteran talker beat FAUX News' Billo.

3.2 million people tuned into the interview on an hour-long talk show that averaged only 1.4 million viewers just a day earlier.

King's highest rated recent telecasts were "Emergency Landing of a Jet Blue Airbus 320 in LA" (9/21/05 - 4.9 million viewers) and Star Jones interview (6/29/06 - 3 million).

As for the Paris Hilton interview, I couldn't help but crack up when King asked Paris why she chose to speak up and she said "Because you're such an icon, Larry".

Yes, that and the fact that NBC turned the Hilton family's $1 million offer down.

MSNBC Reporter Rips the Paris Hilton Story

MSNBC reporter and commentator Mika Brzezinski declined to do the lead story on Paris Hilton Wednesday morning on MSNBC's Morning Joe show and even attempted to burn the script on air. Hey! How come no one else thought of that before? Yes! That's what we should do. Ignore Paris Hilton! Genius! I feel so liberated now. Speaking of Paris, the socialite is set to appear on the Larry King Show tonight, while...

...People Magazine has landed an exclusive interview with the heiress who was fluffing her newly replaced blonde hair extensions Tuesday at her grandfather's Bel Air mansion, just hours after her release from the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. US Weekly will, meanwhile, follow Mika's example and ignore Paris by putting our favorite Scientologist Tom Cruise and his daughter Suri on the cover.

Paris Hilton Free (Pix & Video)

26-year old hotel heiress Paris Hilton was released from Century Regional Detention Facility in suburban Lynwood today at about 12:15 a.m. PDT.

Hilton made no statement, but appeared somewhat shy as she smiled walking down a paparazzi-lined path to an SUV where she was embraced by her mother, Kathy.

The Hiltons left within a minute, headed for their residence in the exclusive enclave of Bel-Air, with the paparazzi following them all the way.

Hilton is scheduled to give her first post-jail television interview on Wednesday on CNN's "Larry King Live" show.

The socialite served 22 days out of the original, unusually long, 45-day sentence.

CNN Drops Michael Moore Over Paris Hilton

CNN has decided to reschedule its planned Wednesday interview with director Michael Moore about his controversial new film "Sicko" after successfully ending negotiations with the Hilton family securing an exclusive interview with heiress Paris Hilton who is scheduled to be released from jail on Tuesday. The decision comes following an unsuccessful bidding war between ABC and NBC.

According to New York Times, Barbara Walters - who is friends with Paris' mother Kathy - was in touch with the Hiltons trying to secure the interview for ABC, which has in recent months aggressively pursued the most attractive celebrities and newsmakers for its "Good Morning America" show in an attempt to surpass NBC's competing program "Today" which has been dominant in the ratings over the past decade.

According to network insiders, ABC offered the Hiltons $100,000 for the interview, but after NBC - which recently paid over $2 million to secure a Matt Lauer interview with British Princes William and Harry - outbid that offer putting almost $1 million on the table, Paris' father Rick Hilton called Barbara to tell her that "nobody refuses that kind of money." People magazine, meanwhile, had made a deal to pay $300,000 for photos that would have accompanied an interview with Hilton.

At this point someone was bitter enough to leak information concerning the interview price tag to the media, causing NBC to do quick damage control and cancel the interview in what appeared to be a rather poorly executed PR backtracking ploy. In fact, NBC went as far as to attack gossip site TMZ which reported about NBC "pulling the plug," saying the interview had never been agreed in the first place.

After the entire PR fiasco, a spokeswoman for Larry King LIVE, Bridget Leininger, said yesterday that CNN got the exclusive interview, but no money had been paid. "Larry King never pays for interviews," she said. That however doesn't mean the Hiltons won't be cashing in on their daughter's release from jail.

Ms. Leininger admitted she was unsure whether the cable show was going to use any photos and if so, whether any fee would be paid to for such material or to Getty Images, a photo agency that had previously made a deal to acquire rights to the first pictures of Paris Hilton home from jail.

NBC Denies $1 Million Paris Hilton Deal

NBC has denied they would pay Paris Hilton $1 million to appear on the Today show following her release from jail next week. The wealthy socialite may however do a prime-time show for the network and NBC said they would pay for her private photos or videos. In other words - it's not six. It's half a dozen.

As Hollywood press reports late Thursday, no deal with Hilton is as yet in place and the two sides are currently negotiating whether the celebutante would do a straightforward interview or some kind of special that could include an interview on "Today."

Earlier this week, Princes William and Harry appeared on "Today" for an exclusive interview with Matt Lauer and portions of that interview also aired in the network's prime-time news magazine "Dateline" and sister news channel MSNBC.

NBC did pay the British royals $2.5 million for the broadcast rights to a tribute concert for Princess Diana on what would have been her 46th birthday, a fee that was donated to the late princess' charity.

The Hiltons' Father's Day Jail Visit

Rick and Kathy Hilton went to Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California today to visit their daughter Paris. "The Simple Life" star is eligible for early release and may be out by next Monday.

Magazines.com, Inc.

The Hiltons are allowed two 30-minute visits per week behind glass partition on Sundays and Tuesdays. Paris' sister Nicky also came to visit this weekend with her boyfriend and a friend on Saturday.

Following her much publicized return to jail on June 8, the 26-year old socialite spent almost a week in the prison medical facility, before being placed back into regular jail on Thursday.

Los Angeles Times meanwhile published a report indicating that Judge Sauer did give Hilton special treatment, as in the past year, those with similar offences served an average of 4 days out of a 14-day sentence. Hilton is expected to serve 23 days out of a 45-day sentence.

Paris Hilton Prison Drama: Was Judge Michael Sauer Biased?

Sheriff Lee Baca, who released Paris Hilton from prison earlier this week, has told the reporters the only special treatment the wealthy socialite received was the amount of sentence. Was Judge Michael Sauer an emotional man on a mission fueled by conservative bias?

Infuriated, Judge Sauer ordered that Hilton be brought back into courthouse with bold, aggressive handwriting ended with two exclamation marks: "LASD [Los Angeles Sheriff's Department] directed to bring D (defendant) to court!!"

Not interested in hearing about Hilton's alleged medical problems, the Judge ordered that the heiress serve the remander of her original 45-day sentence effective immediately.

Sherrif Baca said in a statement that the LA County jail system is the largest in the United States and it currently houses 20,000 inmates, 90% of whom are serious felons held on murder charges or attempted murder charges.

Hilton was one of the low-level offenders who normally serve 10% of their jail sentence due to the jail system being overcrowded.

Baca then argued that most people convicted of similar drink-driving offences would face at most a few days in jail rather than six weeks.

The judge however gave Hilton a 45-day sentence and furthermore he pre-empted, with a special motion, any attempt to reassign her to house arrest.

Judge Sauer had said he was not going to give Paris Hilton any "celebrity justice" because of her status.

Could that status, however, have influenced the judge to give her unfair justice?

Finally, the Judge had also said he himself was stranger to fame and celebrity. As TMZ discovered, he did bask in a bit of spotlight himself.

According to the website, the Judge indulged in a standing ovation from his fellow church-goers as he entered the St. Brendan church in Los Angeles, the Sunday after he made the original ruling.

Judge Throws Paris Hilton Back Into Jail

The Hilton saga reached a meltdown point as judge ordered that a sobbing Paris Hilton go back to jail to serve out the remaining 40 days of her sentence. As emotional Rick and Kathy Hilton stood in disbelief, the heiress was physically escorted out of the courtroom screaming "Mom, mom, mom!"

Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, sans makeup, wearing a gray fuzzy sweat shirt over slacks.

She cried throughout the hearing, her body shook constantly and she dabbed at her eyes, clasping her hands, as if praying. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you." At one point during the hearing however, a deputy ordered Hilton to stop turning around to look at her mother, Kathy Hilton.

The Hilton family lawyers have already begun to draw an appeal and are expected to file it either later today or immediately on Monday morning. Paris was taken into the Twin Towers jail straight from the courtroom.

Now, although I obviously do believe Paris needs to take genuine responsibility for her reckless behavior, I can't help but feel the public uproar and the media coverage of what used to be a DUI case have perverted themselves into a cheap, almost pornographic thrill of hoi polloi seeing a woman who was born into a life of privilege hit rock bottom.

Well it's either that or perhaps I have been watching those nitwits on FOX News too much again. And that can't be healthy, so I better flip over to Comedy Central now.

Paris Hilton Backlash Begins

Paris Hilton went to jail to learn a valuable lesson, and boy, did she learn one - she can get away with just about anything. Citing a serious medical condition (as later confirmed "being on the verge of a nervous breakdown"), LA County Sheriff's Department reassigned Paris to house arrest. Shouldn't someone get into trouble for that?

Earlier today L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe said: "This incident with Paris Hilton is just the most recent that highlights the problems our criminal justice system has with making sure sentences stick, whether it is in a County jail or under electronic monitoring."

Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo then said to TMZ: "Today I was extremely troubled to learn that the Sheriff's Department has decided to release Ms. Hilton from custody just three days after she was admitted to county jail.

My office was not advised of this action. We learned of it this morning through news reports, just like everyone else. Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds.

News reports indicate that the Sheriff's Department released Ms. Hilton to house arrest due to a medical condition. This explanation is puzzling. Los Angeles county jail medical facilities are well-equipped to deal with medical situations involving inmates.

If law enforcement officials are to enjoy the respect of those we are charged with protecting, we cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment. We must ensure that in our city, in our nation, and under our Constitution, justice remains blind."

Meanwhile, Rev. Al Sharpton, the black civil rights campaigner said in a statement:

"This early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favouritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of colour," he said.

"There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released."

Hilton, 26, was sent home with an electronic bracelet attached to her ankle to track her movements and was ordered confined to her luxurious Hollywood Hills house for 40 days.

Nicole Richie May Go To Jail, Too

What is it like when your best friend goes to the slammer? Reality star Nicole Richie appeared on the David Letterman show last night promoting her E! series "The Simple Life," dishing on pal Paris and her own legal troubles.

Richie generated most laughter when she responded to host's question about how Paris felt before she went to jail. Her simple answer "Like anybody who is about to go to jail," left even the funnyman in stitches.

Nicole talked about the new season of "The Simple Life" which takes place at a fitness camp where she and Paris welcomed the new members by giving them enemas in the front yard.

Paris was originally also supposed to appear last night on Letterman.

Nicole confirmed she and Paris did not speak for over 2 years, but as many old friends, they have been able to sort out their differences and make up. Paris made the first move when she called Richie on her birthday last year.

Finally, Nicole admitted that her own legal troubles are not over and she may end up in jail like Paris. The socialite struggled to give an articulate answer when Letterman asked why young Hollywood was in so much trouble these days.

"The Simple Life" airs Sunday nights at 10 p.m. on cable's E!

Paris Hilton Jailbird Waxwork Unveiled

Paris Hilton surrendered herself to authorities in Los Angeles last night to begin her jail sentence for driving on a suspended license, and Madam Tussauds in New York City is marking the occasion by putting her wax work dummy into the prison spirit with a new wardrobe. Take a closer look at the other fake Paris after the jump.

The celebrity socialite's wax mannequin will be dressed up up in a black and white striped prison suit, instead of the low cut tank top and turquoise sweat suit she is normally seen in. A spokeswoman said Hilton's dummy would stay in prison garb for as long as her real-life counterpart, who is expected to stay 23 days in jail.

Paris Hilton In Jail!

Following her appearance at MTV Movie Awards, Hollywood socialite and reality TV star Paris Hilton was, in a surprising move, booked into Century Regional Detention Facility in an industrial area about five miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, two days early.

The Sheriff had apparently devised the plan of surrendering miles away from Lynwood, where Paris will be doing time, because the crush of paparazzi that had assembled at the jail created a potential safety hazard.

TMZ reports plans for Paris have changed. Although a woman had been designated her cell mate, for the time being Hilton will be in solitary 23 out of 24 hours every day. The one remaining hour she will be allowed to shower, use a phone and watch TV in a small pod adjacent to her cell.

Though a judge sentenced her to 45 days behind bars, Hilton is expected to serve only 23 days because of a state law that requires shorter sentences for good behavior. Hilton will be housed in the facility's "special needs" unit.

Pre-Jail Paris Hilton @ MTV Movie Awards

She may not have been nominated for any awards, but Paris Hilton sure knew how to work that ruby carpet before "MTV Movie Awards" in Hollywood earlier this evening. The heiress is to report to Los Angeles County Jail by midnight Tuesday.

The socialite flashed her trademark coy smile as she posed for photos and talked with reporters.

"I'm really scared but I'm ready to face my sentence," she said. "Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that's really helpful."

MTV Movie Awards host Sarah Silverman cracked a crude penis-joke at Hilton's expense to open the show.

Paris & Nicole Film "The [Not So] Simple Life"

Trashy Hollywood socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie who put bimbo-chic back in vogue are returning to the E! cable network on May 28 (Memorial Day) with a new season of their reality show "The Simple Life," an impressive achievement given the season's rocky path to airwaves.

The show originally premiered on FOX in 2003 pulling in over 13 million viewers during its limited summer run. The two subsequent seasons however attracted 10 and 7 million viewers respectively. When it became clear the two friends had fallen out FOX canceled the series in 2005.

7 million may be peanuts for FOX, but it is more than enough for E! Online. In fact when the fourth season of "The Simple Life" premiered on E! in early 2006 to only 1,3 million viewers that was still four times the prime-time average for the network which happily greenlighted a fifth season.

Although Hilton and Richie in the meantime rekindled their friendship, the production of the 5th season ran into a lot of trouble. Originally scheduled for November, the production was delayed till March due to Nicole entering health facility to tackle her weight issues.

There were additional complications stemming from both Richie and Hilton's DUI arrests and facing jail time as well as a revelation on Courtney Love's website about Paris' birthday party and a big pile of "white powder" in her bathroom. The network however went ahead with the production.

The fifth season entitled "The Simple Life Goes to Camp" follows Paris and Nicole working as counselors at Camp Shawnee. Following the Memorial Day premiere, the show will regularly air on Sunday nights. 10 episodes have been ordered.

Is Josh "Hollywood Redneck" Henderson Ms.Hilton's Boy Toy Or PR Ploy?

Trashy Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton is spending a lot of time with "Desperate Housewives'" bad boy Josh Henderson, or that is at least what appears when the cameras are rolling. Is the young man who "shagged" his way down Wisteria Lane getting any sex, though?

Last week, the paparazzi filmed Paris and Dallas-born Josh saying goodbye after seeing a movie at a theater and then this week on Friday, the duo was snapped just as Paris and her sister Nicky headed out of the Hilton residence in Beverly Hills on the way to a wild night of partying at Hollywood's new hotspot Parc.

The unlikely coupling has prompted some to suspect an attempt to keep the young man hot and buzzworthy in the fickle climate of Tinseltown. After all, his highly anticipated guest starring stint on ABC's "Housewives" did fall rather flat. Josh is currently looking for his next acting gig and does not have any upcoming projects listed in his filmography.
