Ratings: Tuesday (3/05/08)
Tuesday's ratings are in. Was FOX's rookie drama "New Amsterdam" able to capitalize on its blockbuster lead-in "American Idol" and get strong sampling of the pilot episode?
FOX's "New Amsterdam" premiered to 13.65 million viewers. That may be a decent start, but the show moves to its regular timeslot Mondays at 9/8c next week, where it will lead-out of another new drama "Canterbury's Law."
"New Amsterdam" managed to hold on to less than half of "American Idol" audience and over 2.5 million viewers changed the channel by 9:30.
Meanwhile, it seems "Jericho" fans should get ready to bid farewell to the series they saved last year with the nuts campaign.
"One Tree Hill" was somewhat below its season average, but still managed to score almost 3 million viewers.

A shame about Jericho but as a fan of the show i'm happy that CBS listened to the fans and gave them a little more than just one season. My question to you is do you think their is a chance that Sci Fi will pick it up for next season? In looking at what they have they could use another drama and they already show Jericho repeats on the network throughout the week. If a good portion of Jericho's loyal audience finds it weekly on cable it could pull in decent numbers IMO.
