Dr. Sara Tancredi Alive on "Prison Break"
Actress Sarah Wayne Callies is returning to FOX's heart-pounding thriller "Prison Break" despite her character Dr. Sara Tancredi getting decapitated last October. Fans rooting for Sara and Michael (Wentworth Miller) may be thrilled to hear the news, but how many sharks has the show jumped now?
The producers' original plan was to hold Sarah in captivity for a number of episodes before killing her off thus giving Michael Scofield the required drive to take the seedy syndicate called "The Company" down.
Actress Sarah Wayne Callies was however not very comfortable with these creative decisions and declined to be a part of season 3, for which reason her character was almost immediately and brutally axed off-screen.
That gave the writers a possibility to create a little conflict between the brothers (since Lincoln withheld the information about Sara's death for a couple of episodes) as well as an "emotional hook."
In an interview with TV Guide, show runner Matt Olmstead said Dominic Purcell's character (Lincoln Burrows) never really inspected the severed head he found in the box, which may have belonged to anyone (!).
In season 4, which leaps forward in time one month, Sara reappears and the show focuses on the mystery of what happened to her as well as to other characters during the time that has passed. Filming begins in May. Season 4 premieres in the fall. Sarah Wayne Callies will be a part of all 22 upcoming episodes.
