TV Ratings: Tuesday (March 18, 2008)
Last night "Dancing with the Stars" improved ABC's Tuesday night performance immensely, albeit getting heavily beaten by FOX's "American Idol." The dancing contest also gave ABC's new comedy "Miss Guided" a solid launching pad.
Nevertheless, ABC sitcoms which air following "Dancing with the Stars" are known to lose a big chunk of their audience once they lose their plum lead-in.
Most recently, "Samantha Who" lost almost two thirds of its 15+ million audience once the 5th cycle of the competition ended last fall. Will "Miss Guided" follow suit on Thursdays?
Meanwhile, CBS' strike-induced line-up of "Big Brother" and "Jericho" remains unimpressive. Don't count on those nuts this year.
Finally, "One Tree Hill" continues to do well for the CW, exceeding its reality lead-in by over 1 million viewers and adding half a million week to week. No need to worry about the ratings, though. OTH has already been renewed for a 6th season.
