Eva Longoria Parker's Movie Bombs
"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria Parker, who graces the cover of the March issue of In Style Magazine, bombs at the box office with her romantic comedy "Over Her Dead Body."
Unlike Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," the stars of "Desperate Housewives" have had trouble making the crossover from television to the big screen.
Nicolette Sheridan's comedy "Code Name: The Cleaner" (starring Cedric the Entertainer and Lucy Liu) grossed just $10 million worldwide after costing the studio $20 million (not including marketing and distribution costs).
Felicity Huffman's Golden Globe-winning performance in "Transamerica" (2005) ensured critical acclaim, but little box office appeal. Ditto for her last year's effort "Georgia Rule" starring Jane Fonda and Lindsay Lohan.
Now, two weeks after its release, Parker's "Over Her Dead Body" has grossed a little over $11 million and it appears, it won't be going much further.
Parker will give her movie career another shot later this year when she appears in yet another comedy titled "Lower Learning" (co-starring "American Pie's" Jason Biggs) which is currently in production.
